Autophagy signaling in hypertrophied muscles of diabetic and control rats

We analyzed autophagy proteins in extensor digitorum longus (EDL) and soleus muscles of control and diabetic rats after 7 days of hypertrophy. Basal autophagy proteins were higher in EDL. Diabetes did not affect the hypertrophy or autophagy in either muscle. Soleus showed increased autophagy signaling after hypertrophy.

The motion of massless fermions in a helicoidal graphene nanoribbon under the influence of a uniform magnetic field B is investigated. The combined effects of width of the nanoribbon (D), length of ribbon (L), twist parameter (ω), and B on the equations of motion and local density of states are analyzed and discussed.

One‐Pot Conversion of Glucose into 5‐Hydroxymethylfurfural using MOFs and Brønsted‐Acid Tandem Catalysts

5‐Hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) is synthesized in one step from glucose using tandem catlysts based on several metal organic framework catalysts and a polyoxometalate adding separately or by encapsulation. In both cases, the highest performance is obtained with MIL‐101(Cr) with high HMF yields of around 40%.
