Fimbrial Haemagglutinins in Enterobacter Species [PDF]
Fifty-two strains from seven species of Enterobacter, grown under a variety of conditions, were examined in rocked-tile tests for production of haemagglutinins and with the electron microscope for fimbriae. Thirteen non-haemagglutinating strains were non-fimbriate.

Beyond FimH: Diversity and Relevance of Carbohydrate‐Binding Fimbrial Proteins in Escherichia coli
This review discusses fimbrial lectins found in Escherichia coli (E. coli) other than FimH, which could be targeted to treat E. coli pathogenicity as an alternative to antibiotic treatment. Escherichia coli (E. coli) is responsible for multiple diseases in humans and animals.

Supra and subgingival application of antiseptics or antibiotics during periodontal therapy
Abstract Periodontal diseases (gingivitis and periodontitis) are characterized by inflammatory processes which arise as a result of disruption of the balance in the oral ecosystem. According to the current S3 level clinical practice guidelines, therapy of patients with periodontitis involves a stepwise approach that includes the control of the patient ...

Extended-Spectrum β-lactamase Production among Enterobacter cloacae and Enterobacter aerogenes at a Tertiary Care Center in Coastal Karnataka [PDF]
Introduction: Enterobacter spp. have been increasingly isolated as nosocomial pathogens. Multi-drug resistance is more frequently noted among these pathogens. Extended spectrum beta lactamases (ESBLs) are difficult to detect in Enterobacter spp.
