Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of the Occurrence of ESKAPE Bacteria Group in Dogs, and the Related Zoonotic Risk in Animal-Assisted Therapy, and in Animal-Assisted Activity in the Health Context [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Animal-assisted interventions are widely implemented in different contexts worldwide. Particularly, animal-assisted therapies and animal-assisted activities are often implemented in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and other health facilities.

Characterization of beta-lactamase induction in Enterobacter cloacae [PDF]

open access: yesAntimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, 1983
The induction of beta-lactamase was studied in a strain of Enterobacter cloacae. A wide variety of beta-lactam compounds were found to induce beta-lactamase in this organism, and the degree of induction was directly related to the stability of the inducer to degradation by the enzyme.

A Pilot Study Using Microbial Glycolipid Signatures to Diagnose Nosocomial Ventriculitis

open access: yesRapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, Volume 39, Issue 24, 30 December 2025.
ABSTRACT Rationale Ventriculitis is a life‐threatening infectious condition that requires rapid pathogen identification. Conventional diagnostic methods often require 24–48 h of ex vivo culture. The aim of this study was to evaluate a novel MALDI‐TOF MS approach for analyzing glycolipids for species‐level pathogen identification directly from cerebral ...

An ancient family of mobile genomic islands introducing cephalosporinase and carbapenemase genes in Enterobacteriaceae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The exchange of mobile genomic islands (MGIs) between microorganisms is often mediated by phages, which may provide benefits to the phage's host. The present study started with the identification of Enterobacter cloacae, Klebsiella pneumoniae and ...

Environmental Dissemination of Multidrug‐Resistant Gram‐Negative Pathogens in Djibouti's Wastewaters

open access: yesPublic Health Challenges, Volume 4, Issue 4, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Background The occurrence of multidrug‐resistant (MDR) Enterobacteriaceae‐producing extended‐spectrum β‐lactamases (ESBLs) and/or carbapenemases is increasingly reported in clinical and environmental settings. Here, we aimed to investigate the resistance profile of gram‐negative bacterial isolates from urban and environmental wastewater in ...

Desiccation resistance and persistence of Cronobacter species in infant formula [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Cronobacter is a newly described genus which includes opportunistic pathogens formerly known as ‘Enterobacter sakazakii’. These organisms have been isolated from a wide variety of sources, including powdered infant formula (PIF).

Colistin heteroresistance in Enterobacter cloacae is regulated by PhoPQ‐dependent 4‐amino‐4‐deoxy‐l‐arabinose addition to lipid A

open access: yesMolecular Microbiology, 2019
The Enterobacter cloacae complex (ECC) consists of closely related bacteria commonly associated with the human microbiota. ECC are increasingly isolated from healthcare‐associated infections, demonstrating that these Enterobacteriaceae are emerging ...

Epidemiological, pathological and microbiological investigation of neonatal lamb mortality in the region of Constantine, Algeria

open access: yesVeterinary Record Open, Volume 12, Issue 2, December 2025.
Abstract Background Neonatal lamb mortality affects the sheep flock's productivity. In Algeria, data are very limited, making investigations quite relevant. This study aimed to determine risk factors associated with neonatal lamb mortality, describe gross and histopathological lesions on affected organs, and identify bacterial pathogens involved ...

Study the pathogenicity of Enterobacter cloacae in rats that isolated from diarrheatic buffalos calves in Babylon Province

open access: yesAl-Qadisiyah Journal of Veterinary Medicine Sciences, 2015
The study was aimed to isolate Enterobacter cloacae from feces of buffalo calves suffering from diarrhea and shows its pathogenicity in rats, 150 fecal samples were collected and cultured directly on MacConky agar then tested biochemically and with EPi ...
