Evaluation of a bacteriophage-typing scheme for Enterobacter cloacae [PDF]
A set of 25 Enterobacter cloacae typing phages was evaluated. Of 384 test strains, 93.8% were lysed by at least one phage; the mean number of reactions/strain was 7.3. Discrimination between strains was satisfactory within the most frequent O serotypes; 0.9 patterns/strain were found for strains of serotypes O3 and O8. Overall, 325 patterns were found.

A Diagnostic Challenge: From Suspected Ischemic Stroke to Confirmed Herpetic Encephalitis
Multimodal neuroimaging in a case of HSV‐1 encephalitis mimicking malignant MCA stroke: from initial CT findings misinterpreted as large territorial infarction, through decompressive craniectomy for refractory intracranial hypertension, to MRI confirmation of non‐territorial haemorrhagic encephalitis prompting CSF analysis and acyclovir therapy ...

ABSTRACT Background Preirradiated patients undergoing microvascular head and neck reconstruction for tumor recurrence or osteoradionecrosis (ORN) face surgical site infection (SSI) rates exceeding 30%. The impact of perioperative extended‐spectrum antibiotic coverage remains unclear. This study hypothesizes that calculated prophylaxis with piperacillin/

ABSTRACT Background and Aim Escherichia coli is a key pathogen responsible for various infections, such as urinary tract infections, gastroenteritis, and wound infections. The increasing occurrence of antimicrobial resistance, particularly in extended‐spectrum β‐lactamase (ESBL)‐producing strains, poses a significant global health threat.
