Enterobacteria and host resistance to infection
Mammalian Genome, 2018Enterobacteriaceae are a large family of Gram-negative, non-spore-forming bacteria. Although many species exist as part of the natural flora of animals including humans, some members are associated with both intestinal and extraintestinal diseases. In this review, we focus on members of this family that have important roles in human disease: Salmonella,

15. The range of amino acids detected on two -dimensional chromatography was not suggestive of an atypical protein. The adsorption of fimbriae to DEAE - but not to CM- cellulose suggests a preponderance of acidic amino acids in their structure. The relevance of this finding is discussed in relation to their agglutinating properties and to their ...

Microwave sterilization of enterobacteria.
Microbios, 1994A new method is described which makes it possible to treat metal materials with microwaves. In consequence scalpel blades as well as cover glasses contaminated with four species of bacteria (Salmonella typhi, Proteus mirabilis, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) were sterilized.

[Carbapenem resistance in enterobacteria].
Epidemiologie, mikrobiologie, imunologie : casopis Spolecnosti pro epidemiologii a mikrobiologii Ceske lekarske spolecnosti J.E. Purkyne, 2009Carbapenems are the drugs of choice in the treatment of serious infections caused by multiresistant Gram-negative bacteria. Clinically and epidemiologically, resistance to these beta-lactams poses the highest risk. In enterobacteria, two common mechanisms can cause the resistance to carbapenems: (1) hydrolysis of carbapenems by beta-lactamases and (2 ...

[Micromethod for identification of enterobacteria].
Dakar medical, 2000The aim of this study was to set accurate and reliable methods in the identification of Enterobacteriaceae. In Micro CSB Entero each of a strip with 20 cupules containing dehydrated substrates for biochemical identification of bacterial species. Strips were inoculated with 100 microliters per cupule and incubated.
