Transfer of molecular markers is widely used in conservation genetic studies. We investigated the transferability of simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers developed for Enterolobium cyclocarpum to E. contortisiliquum, a tropical tree widely distributed in dry forests. A set of 9 evaluated SSR markers were amplified in E.

Purification and partial characterization of Enterolobium contortisiliquum seed arylamidase.
1. Arylamidase activity was isolated from Enterolobium contortisiliquum seeds (2 U/g) using L-Leu-2-naphthylamide as substrate to monitor the purification. 2. The enzyme preparation was purified 733-fold by ammonium sulfate precipitation, and by ion exchange and gel filtration chromatography, in 6.6% yield. 3.

Isolation and partial characterization of an endopeptidase from Enterolobium contortisiliquum seeds.
1. Aqueous extracts of Enterolobium contortisiliquum seeds contain an endopeptidase of M(r) 60,000 with specificity for basic amino acid residues. The enzyme was purified by chromatography on DEAE Sephadex, followed by gel filtration on Sephadex G-75 and affinity chromatography on Zinc-Sepharose.
