Hypersonic ramjet experiment project. Phase 1: Computer program description, ramjet and scramjet cycle performance [PDF]
A computer program was developed to describe the performance of ramjet and scramjet cycles. The program performs one dimensional calculations of the equilibrium, real-gas internal flow properties of the engine. The program can be used for the following: (

ABSTRACT In the past two decades numerous experiments have been conducted on the kinetics of reactions occurring at low temperatures on inert matrices. In particular, unimolecular proton‐transfer photo‐reactions of compounds containing a carbon–sulfur double bond, or thione group C═S, can lead to the formation of higher energy isomers or tautomers with

Beyond Water: Deep Eutectic Solvents Enable Dye‐Sensitised Photocatalytic Hydrogen Production
Dye‐sensitised photocatalytic H2 evolution is demonstrated for the first time in deep eutectic solvents (DESs). Carbazole‐based dyes with different hydrophobicity sensitise Pt@TiO2, revealing that heterogeneous dye–DES combinations maximise activity. Interfacial solvation and charge transfer govern enhanced hydrogen production under visible light. This

Comprehensive Hydrogen Evolution Descriptors for Nonprecious Metal Oxide Electrocatalysts
25 kinds of Fe‐, Co‐, and Ni‐based oxides are investigated to unveil the comprehensive descriptor for electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in metal oxides. Their HER activities are affected by the number of d electrons of the catalysts; i.e., more and less d electrons are beneficial for Fe‐ and Ni‐based oxides, respectively.

Small hydrogen/oxygen rocket flowfield behavior from heat flux measurements [PDF]
The mixing and heat transfer phenomena in small rocket flow fields with fuel film cooling is not well understood. An instrumented, water-cooled chamber with a gaseous hydrogen/gaseous oxygen injector was used to gather steady-state inner and outer wall ...

A Fast Method for Selecting Bio Sourced Materials of Interest in a Candle Formulation
ABSTRACT As consumer demand shifts towards more sustainable and nontoxic alternatives, the candle industry is exploring unconventional bio‐based and recycled materials as substitutes for paraffin. Four raw materials, that is rice bran wax (RBW), sugarcane wax (SCW), hydrogenated rapeseed oil (HRO), and waste cooking oil (WCO) were assessed based on ...

Combustion of liquid sprays at high pressures [PDF]
The combustion of pressure atomized fuel sprays in high pressure stagnant air was studied. Measurements were made of flame and spray boundaries at pressures in the range 0.1-9 MPa for methanol and n-pentane.

Nanolignin Functional Separators for Flexible Lithium–Sulfur Batteries With Enhanced Performance
Nanolignin‐functionalized separators, incorporating lignin nanoparticles into a crosslinked PEGDA coating applied on commercial separators, reduce polysulfide shuttling, thereby enhancing cycling performance in flexible lithium–sulfur pouch cells, while also improving thermo‐oxidative stability and flame retardancy.
