Enthalpies of combustion, vapour pressures, and enthalpies of sublimation of the 1,5- and 1,8-diaminonaphthalenes

The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 2010
Abstract The standard (p∘ = 0.1 MPa) molar enthalpies of formation, in the crystalline state, of 1,5-diaminonaphthalene and 1,8-diaminonaphthalene were derived from the standard molar energies of combustion, in oxygen, at T = 298.15 K, measured by static-bomb combustion calorimetry.

The enthalpies of combustion of some bicyclic compounds

The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 1971
The enthalpies of combustion of trans-2,3- and 1,4- dimethyl-bicyclo(2,2,1)heptanes, 2-methyl-, cis-5-ethylidene-bicyclo(2,2,1)heptenes-2, 1-methyl-bicyclo(3,1,0)hexane, and 1-methyl-bicyclo(4,1,0)heptane were determined in a static bomb calorimeter. On the basis of the values obtained and literature data the relative thermodynamic stability of isomers

Enthalpies of combustion of triphenylphosphine and triphenylphosphine oxide

The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 1988
Abstract The energies of combustion of crystalline triphenylphosphine and triphenylphosphine oxide were determined in an aneroid adiabatic rotating bomb calorimeter. The standard molar enthalpies of combustion for the reactions at 298.15 K and p o = 1 × 10 5 Pa are: (C 6 H 5 ) 3 P(cr) + 23O 2 (g) = 18CO 2 (g) + (H 3 PO 4 + 6H 2 O)(aq), Δ c

Enthalpies of combustion and formation of 3-formylchromones

Thermochimica Acta, 2006
Abstract The enthalpies of combustion of 3-formylchromone (3F), 3-formyl-6-methylchromone (3F6M) and 3-formyl-6-isopropylchromone (3F6I) were determined by combustion calorimetry. The molar combustion energies ( Δ c U m 0 ( cr, 298.15 K ) ) of the 3F, 3F6M and 3F6I are: −(4452.4 ± 1.8), −(5115.6 ± 2.7) and −(6411.4 ± 2.5) kJ

Measurements of combustion enthalpy of solids by DSC

Materials Chemistry and Physics, 1998
Abstract A method is developed for one measurement of combustion enthalpy by DSC in a stream of oxygen. The relationship between the enthalpy measured and the sample mass was investigated and quantitative results were obtained. The instrument has been carefully calibrated and an allowance made for the gaseous products eluted.

Enthalpies of combustion of five sterically hindered amines

The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 1981
Abstract The standard enthalpies of combustion in oxygen at 298.15 K of the following amines were measured in a static-bomb calorimeter: ΔH° c ( Methyl -t butylamine;,l = −(3684.2±3.7) kJ mol −1 ΔH° c ( Isopropyl -t butylamine;,l = −(4980.9±3.0) kJ mol −1 ΔH° c ( Di -t butylamine;,l = −(

Specific enthalpies of combustion of some acrylic polymers

Fuel, 1985
Abstract Specific enthalpies of combustion of six acrylic polymers and polystyrene were measured by bomb calorimetry. The negative specific enthalpy of combustion (calorific value) was found to increase linearly with the net reducing valencies of the polymer.

Enthalpies of combustion of selenium and diphenyl selenide

The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 1973
The standard enthalpy of combustion of selenium (grey, hexagonal, crystalline) in oxygen has been measured in a rotating-bomb combustion calorimeter, when the product of combustion was a well-defined solution of selenium dioxide. The standard enthalpy of combustion of diphenyl selenide has been found to be −(1577.3±1.0) kcal th mol −1 which yields a ...

Enthalpies of combustion and formation of fullerene C60

The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 1996
Abstract The standard molar energy of combustion of pure fullerene C 60 was measured using a static-bomb isoperibolic macrocalorimeter: Δ c U m o = − (25965 ± 12) kJ·mol −1 . This result was confirmed by recovery of carbon dioxide in the combustion products.
