Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

On the class of entire functions defined by Dirichlet series of several complex variables

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1991
Let \(f(s_ 1,s_ 2)=\sum^ \infty_{m,n=1}a_{m,n}\exp(\lambda_ ms_ 1+\mu_ ns_ 2)\) be an entire function defined by Dirichlet series of two complex variables \(s_ 1\) and \(s_ 2\), where the coefficients \(a_{m,n}\) are complex numbers and ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Some criteria of boundedness of the L-index in direction for slice holomorphic functions of several complex variables

open access: yes, 2019
We investigate the slice holomorphic functions of several complex variables that have a bounded L-index in some direction and are entire on every slice {z⁰ + tb : t ∈ C} for every z⁰ ∈ Cⁿ and for a given direction b ∈ Cⁿ \ {0}.

The range of the restriction map for a multiplicity variety in Hörmander algebras of entire functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The final publication is available at Springer via http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s00009-013-0318-5[EN] Characterizations of interpolating multiplicity varieties for Hörmander algebras Ap(C) and A0 p(C) of entire functions were obtained by Berenstein and Li ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Zeros and growth of entire functions of several variables, the complex Monge-Ampère operator and some related topics

open access: yes, 1992
The classical Levin-Pfluger theory of entire functions of completely regular growth (CRG) of finite order p in one variable establishes a relation between the distribution of zeros of an entire function and its growth.
