Entire-Dataset Analysis of NMR Fast-Exchange Titration Spectra: A Mg2+ Titration Analysis for HIV‑1 Ribonuclease H Domain

open access: yes, 2016
This article communicates our study to elucidate the molecular determinants of weak Mg2+ interaction with the ribonuclease H (RNH) domain of HIV-1 reverse transcriptase in solution.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Hilbert's tenth problem for lacunary entire functions of finite order

open access: yes
In the context of Hilbert's tenth problem, an outstanding open case is that of complex entire functions in one variable. A negative solution is known for polynomials (by Denef) and for exponential polynomials of finite order (by Chompitaki, Garcia-Fritz,

High throughput methodology for synthesis, screening, and optimization of solid state Lithium ion electrolytes

open access: yes, 2011
A study of the lithium ion conductor Li3xLa2/3–xTiO3 solid solution and the surrounding composition space was carried out using a high throughput physical vapor deposition system.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Entire Solutions of Higher Order Abstract Cauchy Problems

open access: yes, 1997
We consider the abstract Cauchy problem for the higher order differential equationu(n)(t)+∑i=0n−1Aiu(i)(t)=0,t≥0 (∗)u(j)(0)=uj,0≤j≤n−1,(∗)whereA0,…,An−1are closed linear operators in a complex Banach spaceE. It is shown that if there exist θ∈(0,π/2), φ∈(−

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Entire solutions with and without radial symmetry in balanced bistable reaction–diffusion equations [PDF]

open access: yes
Let n ≥ 2 be a given integer. In this paper, we assert that an n-dimensional traveling front converges to an (n−1)-dimensional entire solution as the speed goes to infinity in a balanced bistable reaction–diffusion equation.
