AutomataGPT: Transformer‐Based Forecasting and Ruleset Inference for Two‐Dimensional Cellular Automata

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We introduce AutomataGPT, a generative pretrained transformer (GPT) trained on synthetic spatiotemporal data from 2D cellular automata to learn symbolic rules. Demonstrating strong performance on both forward and inverse tasks, AutomataGPT establishes a scalable, domain‐agnostic framework for interpretable modeling, paving the way for future ...

Some monotonicity results for general systems of nonlinear elliptic PDEs

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper we show that minima and stable solutions of a general energy functional of the form $$ \int_{\Omega} F(\nabla u,\nabla v,u,v,x)dx $$ enjoy some monotonicity properties, under an assumption on the growth at infinity of the energy.

Portopulmonary hypertension practice patterns after liver transplantation

open access: yesLiver Transplantation, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract Portopulmonary hypertension (POPH) is a type of pulmonary arterial hypertension occurring exclusively in those with portal hypertensive liver disease. Liver transplantation (LT) can significantly improve outcomes. Current guidelines counsel against immediate adjustments to targeted therapy after LT and suggest routine echocardiography as ...

Analytic and Asymptotic Methods for Nonlinear Singularity Analysis: a Review and Extensions of Tests for the Painlev\'e Property

open access: yes, 1997
The integrability (solvability via an associated single-valued linear problem) of a differential equation is closely related to the singularity structure of its solutions.

Self‐Assisted Charge Storage‐Release Mechanism Enabling Flexible Design of Biomimetic Triboelectric Nanogenerators

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by the mimosa, this study develops a flexible triboelectric nanogenerator with a novel microneedle array and battery‐mimetic architecture. The device introduces a spontaneous charge self‐regulation mechanism that confines the electric field below the air breakdown threshold, and achieves an outstanding charge density of 396.50 µC m−2 ...

Five types of blow-up in a semilinear fourth-order reaction-diffusion equation: an analytic-numerical approach

open access: yes, 2009
Five types of blow-up patterns that can occur for the 4th-order semilinear parabolic equation of reaction-diffusion type $$ u_t= -\Delta^2 u + |u|^{p-1} u \quad {in} \quad \ren \times (0,T), p>1, \quad \lim_{t \to T^-}\sup_{x \in \ren} |u(x,t)|= +\iy, $

Physical Implementation of Optical Material‐Based Neural Networks Processing Enabled by Long‐Persistent Luminescence

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reports on the physical implementation of optical material‐based neural processing using long‐persistent luminescence as memory‐retention and nonlinear optical material. The system performs optical‐domain preprocessing with opto‐electronic interfaces for stimulus delivery and readout, enabling real‐time demonstrations including Pong gameplay

Fully pseudospectral time evolution and its application to 1+1 dimensional physical problems

open access: yes, 2012
It was recently demonstrated that time-dependent PDE problems can numerically be solved with a fully pseudospectral scheme, i.e. using spectral expansions with respect to both spatial and time directions (Hennig and Ansorg, 2009 [15]). This was done with

Capacitive versus Faradaic Microelectrodes for Extracellular Stimulation: A Fully Coupled FEM–Hodgkin–Huxley Study of Thresholds and Current Redistribution

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A fully coupled FEM–HH model shows that ideally capacitive microelectrodes can achieve lower charge‐density thresholds than Faradaic contacts under current‐controlled stimulation. The advantage stems from the dynamics of surface current density on capacitive interfaces, which redirects current beneath adherent neurons.
