Two-variable Wiman-Valiron theory and its applications to PDEs
The classical Wiman-Valiron theory is an important tool for the study of entire solutions of ODEs in the complex plane. A two variable version of Wiman-Valiron theory was developed by Peter Fenton in 1995 and it has been applied to study the entire ...

Application of dynamic modelling and model‐based predictive control to enhance a cooling tower
Model predictive control (MPC) applied to improve the operation of cooling towers. Abstract Model predictive control (MPC) differs from traditional feedback control by making predictions within a time horizon, providing better control actions for the process.

Entire solutions to semilinear nonlocal equations in $R^2$
We consider entire solutions to $L u= f(u)$ in $R^2$, where $L$ is a general nonlocal operator with kernel $K(y)$. Under certain natural assumtions on the operator $L$, we show that any stable solution is a 1D solution.

ABSTRACT Effective management of particle and power exhaust is essential for fusion reactor operation, requiring accurate 3D modeling of divertor physics. The EMC3 code is a well‐established Monte Carlo tool for plasma transport in stellarator edge regions, but until now lacked E×B$$ E\times B $$ and diamagnetic drifts.

The evolution of the temperature field and frozen wall under different fracture conditions was examined by an artificial ground freezing‐based thermal‐hydraulic coupled model. It was observed that fracture inclination affects the interaction extent of freezing pipes and fracture, while phase transition extent is the dominant factor for heat transfer in

1D symmetry for semilinear PDEs from the limit interface of the solution [PDF]
We study bounded, entire, monotone solutions of the Allen-Cahn equation. We prove that under suitable assumptions on the limit interface and on the energy growth, the solution is 1D.

This review elucidates the velocity–dispersion–attenuation coupling mechanisms of wave propagation in rock masses, compares six representative models, and reveals how pressure, temperature, mineral composition, and anisotropy jointly control dynamic responses in complex geological media.

Abstract Aims Myocardial inflammation and impaired mitochondrial oxidative capacity are hallmarks of heart failure (HF) pathophysiology. The extent of myocardial inflammation in patients suffering from ischaemic cardiomyopathy (ICM) or dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) and its association with mitochondrial energy metabolism are unknown.

Stable solutions of $-\Delta u =f(u)$ in $\mathbb R^N$
The paper proves Liouville-type results for stable solutions of semilinear elliptic PDEs with convex nonlinearity, posed on the entire Euclidean space.
