On partial differential equations of Waring's-problem form in several complex variables

open access: yes, 2023
In this paper, we first consider the pseudoprimeness of meromorphic solutions $u$ to a family of partial differential equations (PDEs) $H(u_{z_1},u_{z_2},\ldots,u_{z_n})=P(u)$ of Waring's-problem form, where $H(z_1,z_2,\ldots,z_n)$ is a nontrivial ...

Numerical and Experimental Assessment of Oxygen Distribution in a Perfusion Bioreactor to Mimic the Osteochondral Niche

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Oxygen supply is a critical parameter in 3D cell cultivation using bioreactors. Since bioreactor designs often prioritise practical constraints, understanding the oxygen supply dynamics of the media is crucial for achieving either uniform or spatially controlled oxygen delivery.

Optimal energy growth lower bounds for a class of solutions to the vectorial Allen-Cahn equation

open access: yes, 2014
We prove optimal lower bounds for the growth of the energy over balls of minimizers to the vectorial Allen-Cahn energy in two spatial dimensions, as the radius tends to infinity. In the case of radially symmetric solutions, we can prove a stronger result

Form of solutions to quadratic trinomial partial differential equations with two complex variables

open access: yes
This article describes the from of entire solutions to quadratic trinomial partial differential equations (PDEs). By applying the Nevanlinna theory and the characteristic equation of PDEs, we extend some of the results obtained in [24].

Optimization of 3D‐Printed Structured Packings—Current State and Future Developments

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
This paper gives an overview about structured packing development for distillation, surveying heuristic development cycles, computational fluid dynamics simulations, and additive manufacturing techniques. The emerging application of shape optimization to improve packings is emphasized, and its benefits, impact, and limitations are discussed.

On smooth approximation for random attractor of stochastic partial differential equations with multiplicative noise

open access: yes, 2018
Wong–Zakai type approximation for stochastic partial differential equations (abbreviate as PDEs) is well studied. Besides the polygonal approximation, a type of smooth noise approximation is considered.

An Analytical Design Model of a Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption Process for Biogas Upgrading

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
A steady‐state model was developed for a vacuum pressure swing adsorption (VPSA) process comprising adsorption, depressurization, and evacuation steps. The resulting analytical plant design model provides the optimal adsorber height required to achieve a target product purity with maximum bed utilization.

Extended batch adsorber analogue model (e‐BAAM) for rapid evaluation of CO2 capture pressure swing adsorption cycles

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract This work presents a simplified extended‐batch adsorber analogue model (e‐BAAM) to quantify key performance metrics such as purity, recovery, and energy trends for various pressure swing adsorption (PSA) process cycles for CO2$$ {\mathrm{CO}}_2 $$ capture.
