RNA‐seq and Batelli gland proteomics of fifth‐instar Mahanarva spectabilis nymphs reveal transcripts and proteins associated with xylem feeding, foam production and environmental interaction. Functional annotation identified genes involved in osmoregulation, detoxification, chemosensation and stress responses, while proteomic analysis confirmed ...

Entomopathogenic fungi and insect behaviour: unsuspecting hosts to targeted vectors
The behavioural response of an insect to a fungal pathogen will have a direct effect on the efficacy of the fungus as a biological control agent. In this paper we describe two processes that have a significant effect on the interactions between insects

Vectors and Vector‐Borne Diseases: Biology, Epidemiology and Integrated Control Strategies
ABSTRACT Vector‐Borne Diseases (VBDs), transmitted by arthropods such as mosquitoes, ticks, fleas and sandflies, represent a significant threat to global health. These diseases can be caused by a variety of pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, protozoa, and helminths.

Cendawan entomopatogen sebagai penginduksi ketahanan tanaman: Sebuah tinjauan sistematis
IInsect pathologists' attention to the potential of entomopathogenic fungi (EPF) as inducers of plant resistance has increased in recent years. Several types of EPF that have received attention as biocontrol agents for insect pest populations include ...

Effect of Endophytic Fungi on Thrips tabaci Development and Population Dynamics
ABSTRACT Endophytic fungi are promising biocontrol agents because they colonise healthy plant tissues asymptomatically while inducing systemic resistance that negatively affects herbivorous insects. We investigated whether treatments with the endophytes Trichoderma harzianum and Beauveria bassiana in two onion cultivars (Allium cepa L.; Sturon and Red ...

First report of Metarhizium anisopliae IP 46 pathogenicity in adult Anopheles gambiae s.s. and An. arabiensis (Diptera; Culicidae). [PDF]
The entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium anisopliae isolate IP 46, originating from a soil sample collected in 2001 in the Cerrado of Central Brazil, was tested for its ability to reduce the survival of adult male and female Anopheles gambiae s.s. and An.

Amblyomma sculptum showed a plasmatocyte‐dominant haemocyte profile. Beauveria bassiana increased plasmatocytes and reduced granulocytes, whereas Metarhizium robertsii did not cause significant changes. Amblyomma americanum showed a granulocyte‐dominant haemocyte profile. Beauveria bassiana reduced total haemocytes and granulocytes. B.

Deciphering Role of Endophytes in Plant Defences and Biotic Stress Resilience Across Families
ABSTRACT Plant families generate distinct repertoires of specialised metabolites that govern their biotic interactions. Endophytes strengthen host plant defence mechanisms and tolerance to biotic challenges by upregulating metabolite biosynthesis, modifying precursor compounds into more potent forms, or by directly synthesising analogous defence ...
