Intraspecific variability of Steinernema feltiae (Filipjev) (Rhabditida: Steinernematidae) as biological control agent of rice weevil (Sitophilus oryzae [L.], Coleoptera, Curculionidae) adults

open access: yesActa Agriculturae Slovenica, 2010
The efficacy of three strains (B30, B49 in 3162) of Steinernema feltiae to control adults of rice weevil (Sitophilus oryzae) was tested in a laboratory experiment in 2009.

Entomopathogenic nematode Steinernema carpocapsae (Weiser) (Rhabditida: Steinernematidae), a new member of Slovenian fauna

open access: yesActa Agriculturae Slovenica, 2008
In April 2008, 120 soil samples from 24 locations were collected in Gorenjska, Notranjska and Primorska regions as well as in Ljubljansko barje. The presence of entomopathogenic nematodes was confirmed in 9 samples from 6 locations. Only the sample C101,

An Entomopathogenic Nematode by Any Other Name

open access: yesPLoS Pathogens, 2012
Among the diversity of insect-parasitic nematodes, entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) are distinct, cooperating with insect-pathogenic bacteria to kill insect hosts. EPNs have adapted specific mechanisms to associate with and transmit bacteria to insect hosts.

Distribution of entomopathogenic nematodes in Southern Cameroon

open access: yesJournal of Invertebrate Pathology, 2012
A first survey of entomopathogenic nematodes (EPN) was conducted in three agro-ecological zones of Southern Cameroon in 2007 and 2008. Entomopathogenic nematodes were recovered from 26 of 251 soil samples (10.4%). Three species, Heterorhabditis baujardi, Steinernema sp. A and Steinernema sp. B were found.

Eksplorasi, Identifikasi, dan Karakterisasi Nematoda Entomopatogen Pada Lahan Jagung dan Padi

open access: yesJurnal Ilmu Pertanian Indonesia
Entomopathogenic nematodes (EPN) are potential nematodes as biological agents because they actively search for insect pests and are parasitic on their hosts. Two genera of EPN can be used as biological agents: Steinernema and Heterohabditis.
