ABSTRACT Insects are the most abundant and ecologically important animal migrants. Yet, we know relatively little about the patterns and processes underlying insect migration. Dragonflies (Anisoptera) and damselflies (Zygoptera) comprise the ancient insect order Odonata, whose ancestors were the first organisms to fly on Earth.

The Astrocyte Clock Controls Circadian Perineuronal Net Remodeling, Synapse Strength and Learning Behavior

Bmal1 regulates astrocyte extracellular matrix (ECM) gene expression. Bmal1 deletion in astrocytes disrupts normal circadian rhythms in perineuronal nets (PNN) and reduces PNN content in the hippocampus. In parallel with loss of PNNs, deletion of the core circadian clock gene Bmal1 in astrocytes alters behavior and synaptic function in vivo.
