Humid‐Air Condensation Heat Transfer on Hierarchical Structured Superhydrophobic Graphite Composites
Humid‐air condensation on graphite composites shows that making a surface superhydrophobic is not sufficient to enhance heat transfer. A hierarchical CuO/lauric‐acid coating yields spherical droplets but promotes Wenzel‐type pinning and adds effective thermal resistance under operation.

Numerical and Experimental Investigation of Supersonic Binary Fluid Ejector Performance
Ejectors are simple mechanical devices with no moving parts which convert the pressure energy of a motive fluid to kinetic energy and generate suction of the secondary fluid. The ability to recover waste heat, to operate using solar power and the ability

This study presents a new biodegradable coating for titanium implants using a natural antimicrobial peptide, caerin 1.9. Applied via solvent casting, the coating offers sustained antibacterial protection and promotes healing. Tested on 3D‐printed porous titanium scaffolds, it effectively prevented infection—including against resistant bacteria—while ...

Reynolds-number effects and anisotropy in transverse-jet mixing [PDF]
Experiments are described which measured concentration fields in liquid-phase strong transverse jets over the Reynolds-number range 1.0×10^3 ≤ Rej ≤ 20×10^3. Laser-induced-fluorescence measurements were made of the jet-fluid-concentration fields at a jet-

Optimization of Three Key Geometries of a Steam Ejector under Varied Primary Nozzle Geometries
In this paper, three key geometrical dimensions such as XL3 (constant pressure mixing chamber length), D5 (diameter of the throat of the ejector), and XL5 (length of the throat of the ejector) were separately or sequentially optimized under different ...

Respiratory‐Limbic Coupling via a Thalamic Circuit Alleviates Anxiety
This study delineates a conserved preBötCGlu→PVT→CeA circuit that gates anxiety and respiration. Activation of this circuit is anxiolytic and respiratory‐stabilizing, while its inhibition has the opposite effect. Mechanistically, PVT exerts its anxiolytic action via a disinhibitory microcircuit: its inputs preferentially target CeL GABAergic neurons ...
