Landauer's principle is applied to information in the universe. Once stars began forming, the increasing proportion of matter at high stellar temperatures compensated for the expanding universe to provide a near constant information energy density.

Extensive Entropy Bounds [PDF]
It is shown that, for systems in which the entropy is an extensive function of the energy and volume, the Bekenstein and the holographic entropy bounds predict new results.

Conditional entropy of ordinal patterns [PDF]
In this paper we investigate a quantity called conditional entropy of ordinal patterns, akin to the permutation entropy. The conditional entropy of ordinal patterns describes the average diversity of the ordinal patterns succeeding a given ordinal ...

Building on a technical result by Brunnemann and Rideout on the spectrum of the Volume operator in Loop Quantum Gravity, we show that the dimension of the space of the quadrivalent, diffeomorphism invariant states with no zero-volume nodes describing a region with total volume smaller than $V$, has \emph{finite} dimension, bounded by $V \log V$.

Solutions to the Cosmic Initial Entropy Problem without Equilibrium Initial Conditions
The entropy of the observable universe is increasing. Thus, at earlier times the entropy was lower. However, the cosmic microwave background radiation reveals an apparently high entropy universe close to thermal and chemical equilibrium.

Bowen entropy for actions of amenable groups [PDF]
Bowen introduced a definition of topological entropy of subset inspired by Hausdorff dimension in 1973 \cite{B}. In this paper we consider the Bowen's entropy for amenable group action dynamical systems and show that under the tempered condition, the ...

Free entropy is the analogue of entropy in free probability theory. The paper is a survey of free entropy, its applications to von Neumann algebras and its connections to random matrix theory, as well as a discussion of open problems and of a basic variational problem, connected to random multimatrix models.

ABSTRACT Background Families of children with cancer experience significant financial strain, even with universal healthcare. Indirect costs, such as productivity losses and non‐medical expenses, are rarely included in economic evaluations, and little is known about how effectively financial aid programmes alleviate this burden. Childhood brain tumours
