Precise Estimation of Probabilities in CABAC Using the Cauchy Optimization Method
The algorithm of entropy coding that is now widely used in video compression is the Context-based Adaptive Binary Arithmetic Coding (CABAC). This paper presents a modified, improved version of CABAC, called the CABAC+.

Context-Based Adaptive Binary Arithmetic Coding (CABAC) is a method of entropy coding first introduced in H.264/AVC and now used in the latest High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) standard. While it provides high coding efficiency, the data dependencies in H.264/AVC CABAC make it challenging to parallelize and thus limit its throughput.

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Source coding with escort distributions and Renyi entropy bounds [PDF]
We discuss the interest of escort distributions and R\'enyi entropy in the context of source coding. We first recall a source coding theorem by Campbell relating a generalized measure of length to the R\'enyi-Tsallis entropy.

Entropy coding for Networked Controlled Systems [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to explore yet another variant of the Delta-Modulation Coding structure to improve data transmission efficiency in the context of Networked Controlled Systems. High compression rates can only be reached by the use of entropy coding. Entropy coding assigns some probability distribution to the events.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Entropy Concentration and the Empirical Coding Game
We give a characterization of Maximum Entropy/Minimum Relative Entropy inference by providing two `strong entropy concentration' theorems. These theorems unify and generalize Jaynes' `concentration phenomenon' and Van Campenhout and Cover's `conditional ...

Entropy coding with variable length re-writing systems [PDF]
This paper describes a new set of block source codes well suited for data compression. These codes are defined by sets of productions rules of the form a.l->b, where a in A represents a value from the source alphabet A and l, b are -small- sequences of bits. These codes naturally encompass other Variable Length Codes (VLCs) such as Huffman codes. It
