Directional Latent Hybridization: Beyond Random Noise in Physics‐Informed Generative Inverse Design of Nonlinear Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A physics‐informed generative framework introduces Directional Latent Hybridization (DLH) for the deterministic inverse design of nonlinear metamaterials. By hybridizing dominant traits from parent geometries in the latent space, DLH overcomes the instabilities of stochastic models to ensure high structural precision at high densities.

Entropy Collapses in Motion - Escaping the Second Law

open access: yes
This paper introduces a motion-based physics framework that redefines entropy as a jurisdictional condition rather than a universal law. By modeling persistence and collapse through directional motion (Δm), recursive deviation (ΣΔm), and compression thresholds (Ct), the system demonstrates that entropy loses authority in structures governed by ...

Molecular Appendix Adjusted Architectural Propagations of Red‐Light Controlled Macroscopic Photoactuating Performances

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Amphiphilic chloroazobenzenes, bearing different amino acids as end groups alanine, phenylalanine, and valine, exhibit excellent photoisomerizations. Varying structures of three amino acid groups participate in supramolecular formations and therefore photoinduced morphological transformations via adjusting intermolecular interactions. These interaction

Echinoderm‐Inspired Autonomy for Soft‐Legged Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Inspired by echinoderms, a modular soft robot achieves autonomous phototaxis without a central controller or explicit communication. Each limb independently adapts its actuation timing through local sensing and short‐term memory. Coordination emerges purely from physical interactions, demonstrating resilience to changes in morphology, environment, and ...

Auditory–Tactile Congruence for Synthesis of Adaptive Pain Expressions in RoboPatients

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
In this work, we explore auditory–tactile congruence for synthesizing adaptive vocal pain expressions in robopatients. Using a robopatient platform that integrates vocal pain sounds with palpation forces, we conducted 7680 trials across 20 participants.

Measurement is Dimensional Collapse: A Geometric Interpretation of Entropy

open access: yes
We propose a geometric interpretation of thermodynamic entropy grounded in measurement and dimensional projection. Rather than viewing entropy as disorder, missing information, or phase-space volume, we argue that entropy production fundamentally arises from the loss of structural information when high-dimensional system states are coarse-grained onto ...

Waveguide Photoactuators: Materials, Fabrication, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Waveguide photoactuators convert guided light into mechanical motion. Their tethered‐flexible design enables minimally invasive surgery and confined‐space robotics. This review aims to guide materials selection, device design, and system integration, accelerating the transition of waveguide photoactuators from laboratory prototypes to versatile ...

Ego dissolution as a collapse of integration, not a surge of entropy

open access: yes
AbstractThe “entropic brain” hypothesis holds that psychedelic and other ego-dissolving states correspondto an increase in the entropy or signal diversity of spontaneous brain activity. Motivated by afirst-person report of a combined serotonergic–dissociative state (LSD/DMT together with nitrousoxide, N2O), we asked a sharper question: when a 5-HT2A ...
