Entropy Generation Minimization for Energy-Efficient Desalination [PDF]
Desalination systems can be conceptualized as power cycles, in which the useful work output is the work of separation of fresh water from saline water. In this framing, thermodynamic analysis provides powerful tools for raising energy efficiency.

Constructal Design of Elliptical Cylinders with Heat Generating for Entropy Generation Minimization. [PDF]
A heat dissipation model of discrete elliptical cylinders with heat generation on a thermal conduction pedestal cooled by forced convection is established. Constructal design is conducted numerically by taking the distributions of thermal conductivity and heat generating intensity as design variables, the dimensionless entropy generation rate (DEGR) as

Entropy Generation Minimization for Reverse Water Gas Shift (RWGS) Reactors. [PDF]
Thermal design and optimization for reverse water gas shift (RWGS) reactors is particularly important to fuel synthesis in naval or commercial scenarios. The RWGS reactor with irreversibilities of heat transfer, chemical reaction and viscous flow is studied based on finite time thermodynamics or entropy generation minimization theory in this paper. The

Entropy Generation Minimization Analysis of Active Magnetic Regenerators [PDF]
A performance assessment of active magnetocaloric regenerators using entropy generation minimization is presented. The model consists of the Brinkman-Forchheimer equation to describe the fluid flow and coupled energy equations for the fluid and solid phases.

Entropy Generation Minimization of a Thermoelectric Cooler [PDF]
In the present work, we develop a theoretical analysis to minimize the entropy generation of a thermo-electric cooler (TEC), which can be used to cool a processor. We have applied an analysis of first and second law of the Thermo- dynamics to a TEC. We consider the entropy generation equation as the objective function and the first law as a restric ...

Entropy generation minimization analysis of two immiscible fluids
Abstract The entropy generation of two immiscible fluids is investigated in a conjugate heat transfer system. The velocity and temperature fields are analytically obtained by solving the momentum and energy conservation equations. These analytical solutions are used to calculate the local and total entropy generation rates.
