ABSTRACT Background Families of children with cancer experience significant financial strain, even with universal healthcare. Indirect costs, such as productivity losses and non‐medical expenses, are rarely included in economic evaluations, and little is known about how effectively financial aid programmes alleviate this burden. Childhood brain tumours

We study the viscous nanofluid flow over a non-isothermal wedge with thermal radiation. The entropy due to irreversible processes in the system may degrade the performance of the thermodynamic system. Studying entropy generation in the flow over a porous

Entropy Numbers of Weighted Shifts
A lower bound of the entropy numbers for powers of weighted shift operators on \(\ell_p\) space \((1\leq p\leq\infty)\) is established. As an application of proven results, the two operator ideals \(E^{(e)}_q(\ell_p,\ell_p)\) and \(S^{(s)}_q(\ell_p,\ell_p)\) are identical for \(q\in (0,\infty)\).

Entropy and energy spectra in low-Prandtl-number convection with rotation
We present results for entropy and kinetic energy spectra computed from direct numerical simulations for low-Prandtl-number ($Pr < 1$) turbulent flow in Rayleigh-B\'{e}nard convection with uniform rotation about a vertical axis.

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

On some special cases of the Entropy Photon-Number Inequality [PDF]
We show that the Entropy Photon-Number Inequality (EPnI) holds where one of the input states is the vacuum state and for several candidates of the other input state that includes the cases when the state has the eigenvectors as the number states and ...

Relations between Approximation Numbers and Entropy Numbers
Replacing in the definition of the norm the triangle inequality by the inequality \(\| u+v\|\leq c(\| u\|+ \| v\|)\), \(c\geq 1\) fixed, one obtains the notion of quasi-norm and the corresponding notion of quasi-Banach space. The aim of this paper is to study the interrelations between approximation numbers and entropy numbers of compact operators ...

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Entropy extractor based high-throughput post-processings for True Random Number Generators
In cryptographic systems, true random number generation is essential, as a compromised TRNG could lead to a security catastrophe. The raw random numbers are discrete values that are derived at discrete points in time from a noise source of a TRNG. These
