Enabling effective urban green space stewardship through planning: A qualitative comparative analysis in Southwest England

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract Amid increasing urbanisation and biodiversity decline, ‘effective stewardship’ of urban green space (UGS) is a complex but critical nature‐based solution for long‐term environmental, social and economic gain. Combining stewardship and sense‐of‐place frameworks with European nature‐based solutions guidance, we investigate which social and ...

Transforming Coastal Waste: Algae‐Based Recycled HDPE Composites for Enhanced Sustainability

open access: yesPolymer Engineering &Science, EarlyView.
Manufacturing and characterization of composites from beach‐cast algae waste combined with recycled high‐density polyethylene. ABSTRACT Growing environmental concerns are accelerating the development of more sustainable materials. This study successfully created a composite material by combining recycled high‐density polyethylene (HDPE) as the matrix ...

Aggregation‐induced enhanced emission for quantification of recycled content in automotive plastics

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
Quantifying recycled content in four automotive plastics using aggregation‐induced enhanced emission showed that performance was highly dependent on both polymer and additive chemistries. Abstract The use of plastics in the automotive industry is increasing due to their versatility, light weight and affordability.

Opposite Trends in Glass Transition and Vogel Temperatures in Long‐Chain Branched Poly(l‐Lactic Acid)

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, EarlyView.
The glass transition temperature (Tg), as determined by conventional DSC, increases from 326 K to 329 K while the Vogel temperature (Tv) decreases from 271 K to 255 K as the number of branch points per molecule increases from 0 to 3.3. ABSTRACT Poly(l‐lactic acid) (PLLA) is widely used as both a commodity thermoplastic and for engineering applications,
