Symmetries of κ-Minkowski space-time: a possibility of exotic momentum space geometry?
The quest for a quantum gravity phenomenology has inspired a quantum notion of space-time, which motivates us to study the fate of the relativistic symmetries of a particular model of quantum space-time, as well as its intimate connection with the ...

Sociality and interaction envelope organize visual action representations [PDF]
Abstract Humans observe a wide range of actions in their surroundings. How is the visual cortex organized to process this diverse input? Using functional neuroimaging, we measured brain responses while participants viewed short videos of everyday actions, then probed the structure in these responses using voxel-wise encoding modeling.

Viral envelope glycoproteins swing into action [PDF]
Analysis of tick-borne encephalitis virus E protein reveals considerable structural diversity in the glycoproteins that clothe enveloped viruses and hints at the conformational gyrations in this molecule that lead to viral fusion.

The action of three antiseptics/disinfectants against enveloped and non-enveloped viruses [PDF]
The antiviral action of chloroxylenol, benzalkonium chloride and cetrimide/chlorhexidine was assessed against a range of enveloped and non-enveloped human viruses using a suspension test method. Viral suspensions of 10(6)-10(7) pfu/TCID50 or sfu were prepared in each of the antiseptic/disinfectant solutions in the presence of a bovine serum/yeast ...

Noncommutative electrodynamics from $$SO(2,3)_\star $$ SO(2,3)⋆ model of noncommutative gravity
In our previous work we have constructed a model of noncommutative (NC) gravity based on $$SO(2,3)_\star $$ SO(2,3)⋆ gauge symmetry. In this paper we extend the model by adding matter fields: fermions and a U(1) gauge field.

Least-action principle for envelope functions in abrupt heterostructures [PDF]
We apply the envelope function approach to abrupt heterostructures starting with the least action principle for the microscopic wave function. The interface is treated nonperturbatively, and our approach is applicable to mismatched heterostructure.

Group actions and envelopes of holomorphy
Suppose \(K\) is a compact Lie group and \(X\) is a Stein manifold on which \(K\) and its complexification \(K^{\mathbb{C}_ C}\) acts as groups of biholomorphic transformations. Assume \(\Omega\) is a \(K\)-invariant domain in \(X\). The present paper is concerned with the problem of determining the envelope of holomorphy \(E(\Omega)\) of \(\Omega ...
