ACTION OF VISIBLE LIGHT ON ENZYMES IN CELL ENVELOPES OF MICROCOCCUS ROSEUS
Photochemistry and Photobiology, 1975Abstract— Envelopes were isolated from the carotenogenic bacterium Micrococcus roseus, which is subject to photodynamic killing in the presence of a photosensitizing dye but not in the absence of such a dye. Envelope preparations contained 88 per cent of the total cellular carotenoids, 20% of the NADH oxidase, 100 per cent of the ATPase and 30% of the ...

Symmetric orbits of orthogonal veronese actions and their second order envelopes
Results in Mathematics, 1995A submanifold of Euclidean space that is invariant under reflection at each of its normal spaces is called extrinsic symmetric. These are characterized by the fact that the second fundamental form is parallel: \(\nabla h = 0\). They are necessarily orbits of certain orthogonal Lie group actions [the reviewer, Math. Ann. 247, 81-93 (1980; Zbl 0446.53041)

Invariants in enveloping algebras under the action of Lie algebras of derivations
Journal of Mathematical Physics, 1979An upper bound on the number of algebraically independent invariants in an enveloping algebra 𝒰 under the action of a Lie algebra G0 of derivations is obtained. We are able to determine the exact number of invariants for the case [G0,G0]=G0. This generalizes previous results about Casimir invariants.

The Merits of an Envelope Action Spectrum for Ultraviolet Radiation Exposure Criteria
American Industrial Hygiene Association Journal, 1972Few generally accepted standards for personnel exposure to ultraviolet radiation presently exist. Values which have been used as guide-lines were based either on a single-wavelength effect (253.7 nm) which may be emitted from an essentially monochromatic source, or on data which is somewhat at variance with that obtained in more recent investigations ...

Data Envelopment Analysis of Civic Action Programme in North East India
International Journal of Academic Research & Development, 2021Civic Action Programme (CAP) is a Central Sector Scheme which is meant for welfare of border population including people residing in North East (NE) region. The study uses Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) in order to measure the efficiency of four Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) implementing CAP in NE Region from the financial year 2015-16 to 2019 ...

Symmetric orbits of orthogonal Plcker actions and triviality of their second order envelopes
Annals of Global Analysis and Geometry, 1996After presenting the known facts about semi-parallel submanifolds, symmetric orbits and the Plücker action, the author proves the following: 1) the only symmetric orbits are Plücker orbits and for \(n=2v>4\) the unitary orbits, 2) each of their second order envelopes is trivial, i.e., is a single orbit or its open part.

Energy, 2019
Abstract Currently there is intense research activity to improve energy efficiency in buildings. School buildings are among the most numerous of public buildings in Europe, most of them built several decades ago. This paper analyses the inclusion of good energy efficiency practices within a school buildings renovation and modernization programme as ...

Antivirals Acting on Viral Envelopes with a Biophysical Mechanism of Action
2017Most antivirals target viral proteins and are specific for only one virus, or even one viral genotype. Whereas viral proteins are encoded in the plastic viral genome, virion lipids are not and their rearrangements during fusion of the virion envelope to cellular membranes are conserved among otherwise unrelated enveloped viruses.

Decay of the envelope soliton under the action of δ-kicks and a 'soliton standard map'
Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 1990Summary: The dynamics of an envelope soliton under the action of \(\delta\)-kicks is investigated in the framework of a nonlinear Schrödinger equation. It is shown that soliton dynamics may be described by a `standard map' for a sufficiently large number of \(\delta\)-kicks. The estimation of the soliton lifetime and radiation level is derived by means

[Action of various disinfectants on 7 envelope-free viruses].
Annales de recherches veterinaires. Annals of veterinary research, 1987The activity of 15 disinfectants on seven nude viruses belonging to groups significant in human and veterinary medicine and in the bio-industry was investigated by a dilution technique. These trials, performed organic matters being either present or not revealed that current products such as 0.8% sodium hydroxyde and 1 degree chlorine water were the ...
