Are non-use values distance-independent? Identifying the market area using a choice modelling experiment [PDF]
This article tests for the effect of distance on non-use values using a Choice Modelling (CM) experiment. Estimating a distance decay relationship for non-use values (NUVs) is important because it would define the market area for an environmental good, i.

This study analyzes gut bacteria in cholangiocarcinoma patients, revealing distinct microbial signatures that enable accurate disease detection. Species‐based diagnostic models achieved over 98% accuracy in identifying cholangiocarcinoma and distinguished it from other liver diseases. The research demonstrates that specific beneficial bacteria suppress

4‐HBA upregulates NKIRAS2 levels, inhibiting the activation of the NF‐κB pathway and subsequently reducing the levels of neuroinflammatory markers. This modulation helps restore normal mood and behavior in hyperlipidemic conditions, providing a potential therapeutic strategy for managing hyperlipidemia‐associated depression.

Detecting the influence of environmental covariates on animal movement: a semivariance approach
Summary Movements of organisms are influenced by environmental variation. For example, the movement rates of animals in unsuitable habitats are often different from movement rates of animals foraging in high‐quality habitats. Different statistical methods to detect such effects exist, but they often rely on complete and regularly sampled data or ...

Diabetes is an independent risk factor for gallstones. It upregulates CXCR2 expression in hepatic neutrophils, stimulating the formation of NETs that disrupt hepatocellular tight junctions and the liver‐bile barrier. NETs enter bile to accelerate gallstone development, while sarcosine inhibits CXCR2 and NETs production, effectively reducing diabetes ...

Spatial Point Pattern Analysis of the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena in France
We model the unidentified aerial phenomena observed in France during the last 60 years as a spatial point pattern. We use some public information such as population density, rate of moisture or presence of airports to model the intensity of the ...

The results showed that the reduction of plasma 24‐hydroxycholesterol (24‐OHC) was related to the cognitive decline in elderly surgical patients. Neuroinflammation induced by anesthesia and surgery significantly downregulated SREBP2 in hippocampal reactive astrocytes, resulting in reduced cholesterol synthesis.
