Mutant NPM1 in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Initiation and Maintenance

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
NPM1 mutations drive acute myeloid leukemia by acting as neomorphic transcriptional regulators that cooperate with Menin–MLL and XPO1 to sustain HOX/MEIS1 expression and block differentiation. Targeting these mutant‐specific transcriptional dependencies provides a rational therapeutic strategy for NPM1‐mutated AML.

Environmental enrichment in piglet creeps: behavior and productive performance

open access: yes, 2018
In the farrowing stage, to use heated creeps is crucial for meeting the thermal requirements of newborn piglets and alternatives for environmental enrichment to attract the animals to the creeps.

Environmental enrichment for primates

open access: yesAnimal Welfare, 1992
There is currently a great deal of published research and information on the ways in which captive environments of non-human primates could be improved. This material is widely dispersed throughout the scientific literature so it is particularly helpful that the United States Department of Agriculture has published a valuable source of information on ...

Innate Immune Reprogramming Mediated by Endogenous Retroelement Dysregulation Drives Multiple Sclerosis Progression

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Epigenetic reprogramming in hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) and downstream myeloid cells, mediated by H3.3 downregulation and endogenous retroelement (ERE) overexpression, contributes to the progression of multiple sclerosis (MS). ABSTRACT Background Skewed myelopoiesis in the bone marrow has been identified as a key driver of multiple ...

Predictive Ability of Plasma p‐tau217 for β‐Amyloid Status: A Prospective Multicenter Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Plasma tau phosphorylated at threonine 217 (p‐tau217) measured with fully automated platforms has shown high accuracy for Alzheimer's disease (AD) diagnosis, but real‐world multicenter data remain limited. We aimed to validate the diagnostic performance of p‐tau217 for identifying AD pathology in a real‐world multicenter cohort ...

Environmental enrichment for captive Eastern blue-tongue lizards (Tiliqua scincoides)

open access: yes, 2011
Eastern blue-tongue lizards (Tiliqua scincoides) are kept in zoos and increasingly commonly as exotic pets, but little is known about improving their welfare by enrichment of their environment.

Comparing the Effect of Semi‐Immersive Virtual Reality, Computerized Cognitive Training, and Traditional Rehabilitation on Cognitive Function in Multiple Sclerosis: A Randomized Clinical Trial

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cognitive impairment is a common non‐motor symptom in Multiple Sclerosis (MS), negatively affecting autonomy and Quality of Life (QoL). Innovative rehabilitation strategies, such as semi‐immersive virtual reality (VR) and computerized cognitive training (CCT), may offer advantages over traditional cognitive rehabilitation (TCR ...

Risk of Non‐Arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy in Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension Patients Treated with GLP‐1 Receptor Agonists

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonists (GLP‐1 RAs) have demonstrated significant weight‐reducing effects and may offer benefits in idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH); however, recent concerns about the risk of non‐arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) have emerged.
