Identification-based Diagnosis of Rainfall ¿Stream Flow Data: the Tinderry Catchment

open access: yes, 2011
System identification tools, such as transfer function (TF) model structure identification, recursive estimation, time-varying parameter (TVP) estimation and assessment of data information, are used to evaluate the quality of rainfall-stream flow data ...

An intelligent control method for a large multi-parameter environmental simulation cabin

open access: yes, 2013
The structure and characteristics of a large multi-parameter environmental simulation cabin are introduced. Due to the difficulties of control methods and the easily damaged characteristics, control systems for the large multi-parameter environmental ...

From energy provision to protein synthesis: Tunnelling nanotubes as mediators of intercellular metabolic cooperation in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.

Sequential Monte Carlo methods for parameter estimation in nonlinear state-space models

open access: yes, 2012
Stochastic nonlinear state-space models (SSMs) are prototypical mathematical models in geoscience. Estimating unknown parameters in nonlinear SSMs is an important issue for environmental modeling.

MagmaFlow: A desktop platform for artificial intelligence‐driven expression analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
MagmaFlow is a free, no‐code platform for gene expression analysis. It generates interactive volcano plots, links genes to literature, pathways, and diseases, prioritizes candidates using millions of publications, identifies affected biological processes, builds network diagrams, and exports publication‐ready figures and reports for macOS and Windows ...

A new flow chip in combination with multiphoton microscopy as a protocol for longitudinal 3D imaging of tissue calcification under shear stress

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Miniaturized flow chip platform enabling continuous perfusion and longitudinal multiphoton 3D imaging of vascular smooth muscle cell constructs under physiological flow. Brightfield imaging guides region selection, while CellTracker Green and mRuby‐labeled fetuin‐A visualize cells and mineral deposition, respectively. Magnesium supplementation markedly

Environmental policy instruments and their effects on innovation [PDF]

open access: yes
The influence of environmental policy on innovative behaviour of companies has so far recieved little attention in scientific discourse. Based on recent literature, the paper analyses the impact of requirements, levies, permits, liability laws, and the ...

Dose‐dependent hepatotoxicity of hydrogen peroxide in HepG2 cells and its modulation by CYP450 induction

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
NMR metabolomics revealed concentration‐dependent metabolic perturbations in HepG2 cells exposed to H2O2. Rifampicin pretreatment enhanced metabolic competence, attenuated toxin‐induced alterations and produced metabolite profiles more consistent with human liver physiology, supporting the use of CYP450‐induced HepG2 models for improved in vitro ...
