RATIONAL STRUCTURE OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT ECONOMY MANAGEMENT

open access: yesActual directions of scientific researches of the XXI century: theory and practice, 2021
The article is devoted to the development of the methodology of rational management of the economics of environmental management. The importance of this study stems from the need to establish principles and strategies for sound economic management to promote economic development, sustainable resource use, reduce environmental problems and support human

Feasibility and Preliminary Efficacy of Integrative Neuromuscular Training for Childhood Cancer Survivors: A Pilot Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often exhibit early deficits in muscle and movement competence, which can compromise long‐term health. Integrative neuromuscular training (INT), a multifaceted approach combining fundamental movement activities with strength exercises, may help address these deficits during ...

Ecological Rationality: A Framework for Understanding and Aiding the Aging Decision Maker

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2012
Ecological rationality sees human rationality as the result of the adaptive fit between the human mind and the environment. The concept of ecological rationality focuses the study of cognition on two key questions: First, what are the environmental ...

Effects of the Fluid Replacement Method During Online Hemodiafiltration on the Solute Removal Performance and Biocompatibility Using the Asymmetric Cellulose Triacetate Membrane

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

Variable Cognition in ABM Decision-Making: An Application to Livestock Vaccine Choice

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2020
Modeling realistic human decision-making is an important feature of good policy design processes. The use of an agent-based modeling framework allows for quantitative human decision-models that assume fully rational agents.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Teoria da complexidade e racionalidade ambiental: um estudo bibliométrico acerca dos estudos de Leff e Morin

open access: yesCiências Sociais Unisinos, 2015
This study seeks to elucidate relations between the Complexity Theory, coined by Edgar Morin, and the Environmental Rationality, developed by Enrique Leff, considering publications of other authors within the theme.
