Picosecond laser surface micro-texturing for the modification of aerodynamic and dust distribution characteristics in a multi-cyclone system

open access: yesCogent Engineering, 2016
Aerodynamic flow control in a cyclone is critical to its performance. Dust accumulation in a multi-cyclone is undesirable. This research investigated, the effects of laser-patterned Ethylene-Propylene-Diene Monomer (EPDM) roof in a commercial multi ...

Anaerobic Co-Digestion of Human Feces with Rice Straw for Biogas Production: A Case Study in Sunyani

open access: yesModelling and Simulation in Engineering, 2022
The choice of feedstock for biogas production should not only be limited to organic waste like agricultural products, food, and animal waste. Human feces could also be considered a source of biogas production. The ever-increasing cost of fossil fuels and

A review of Ghana’s water resource management and the future prospect

open access: yesCogent Engineering, 2016
Water covers about 70% of the earth’s surface and it exists naturally in the earth in all the three physical states of matter and it is always moving around because the water flows with the current.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...
