Anthracofibrosis: an under‐recognised mimic of malignancy and tuberculosis in a migrant population

Abstract Anthracosis, usually regarded as a benign and uncommon bronchoscopic finding, was identified in 108 (9.9%) of 1154 bronchoscopy procedures at two Australian hospitals, with almost a third showing bronchial narrowing consistent with anthracofibrosis.

Assessing lung health disparities in Aboriginal Australians: inter‐community variation in spirometry pattern among adult Aboriginal people in rural and remote Australia

Abstract This study examined inter‐community‐based variations in spirometry parameters in 243 Aboriginal patients aged >18 years from 14 individual remote communities (61% female, with a median age of 54.6 years). Mixed ventilatory impairment was the most common pattern (51.6%), followed by restrictive (32.4%) and obstructive (9.8%).
