Enzymatic Activity of Desquamin
Experimental Cell Research, 1994We have previously described the properties of desquamin, a cell adhesion molecule in the stratum corneum with lectin-like properties specific for amino sugars. We report here that desquamin is also a trypsin-like serine proteinase. It degrades several chromogenic peptides with arginine in the P1 position, with greatest activity for the tissue ...

HPLC assay of enzymatic activities
Chromatographia, 1987Instead of traditional methods, high-performance liquid chromatography can be used for the determination of enzymatic activities. Assays can be performed once the reaction mixture have been injected in the HPLC apparatus. The elution of the samples is carried out with suitable buffers, and the product(s) formed and left oven substrate(s) are ...

Enzymatic activities of activated sludge
European Journal of Applied Microbiology, 1977As a potential measure of active biomass in an automated and continuous system, enzyme activities of activated sludge were sought that would allow a rapid and accurate determination. Using p-nitrophenylphosphate, bis-p-nitrophenylphosphate, p-nitrophenyl-α- and β-D-gluco- or galactopyranosides, and the p-nitroanilides of L-alanine, L-leucine, L-lysine,

Pancreatin with High Enzymatic Activity*, †
Journal of the American Pharmaceutical Association (Scientific ed.), 1951A simple method of preparing pancreatin with high lipase content is outlined. An analysis, by 50 independent workers, of the pancreatin prepared by this method shows that it contains also over three times the amount of trypsin and of amylase required by the U. S. P. Thus it is an easily prepared “triple strength” pancreatin of high lipase content.

Measuring Enzymatic Activities with Nanopores
ChemBioChem, 2020AbstractNanopores have become powerful and versatile tools for measuring single molecules since their emergence in the mid‐1990s. They can be used to sense a wide variety of analytes including metal ions, small organic molecules, DNA/RNA, proteins, etc. to monitor chemical reactions, and to sequence DNA.

D-Penicillamine and Enzymatic Activities
Enzyme, 1978The influence of incubation with D-penicillamine on pure enzyme preparations and on enzymatic activities of serum and skin homogenates was investigated. Three of the nine enzymatic activities studied underwent significant changes. Such effects of D-penicillamine must be taken into consideration if therapeutic or unwanted actions of this drug are to be ...
