The Immune Microenvironment: New Therapeutic Implications in Organ Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review summarizes recent advances in understanding the immune microenvironment's role in fibrosis, focusing on phenotypic/functional alterations of immune cells and their dynamic interactions with other cellular constituents within tissues. The authors further explore therapeutic opportunities and challenges in targeting immune microenvironment ...

A case of eosinophilic gastroenteritis with eosinophilic ascites.

open access: yesNihon Naika Gakkai Zasshi, 1989

Granulomatous fasciitis followed by morphea profunda: Is granulomatous fasciitis part of a spectrum of deep morphea? A case report and review of the literature. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Although eosinophilic fasciitis is known to be part of the deep morphea spectrum, this first report of the coexistence of granulomatous fasciitis and morphea profunda suggests that granulomatous fasciitis may also be a part of the spectrum of deep ...

Eosinophilic esophagitis in children and adults: a systematic review and consensus recommendations for diagnosis and treatment.

open access: yesGastroenterology, 2007
During the last decade, clinical practice saw a rapid increase of patients with esophageal eosinophilia who were thought to have gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) but who did not respond to medical and/or surgical GERD management. Subsequent studies

MiR‐221‐3p Attenuates IL‐33‐Induced Mast Cell Cytokine Expression by Targeting KIT

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Mast cells (MCs) are involved in type 2 inflammation in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP), which depends on interleukin (IL)‐33 stimulation. MiR‐221 is reported to be an important regulator of MCs, and miR‐221‐3p can be expressed in CRSwNP. However, the role of miR‐221‐3p in CRSwNP is unclear. Methods Ethmoid tissues

A transcriptome-driven analysis of epithelial brushings and bronchial biopsies to define asthma phenotypes in U-BIOPRED [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES: Asthma is a heterogeneous disease driven by diverse immunologic and inflammatory mechanisms. We used transcriptomic profiling of airway tissues to help define asthma phenotypes. METHODS: The transcriptome from bronchial biopsies
