[Preliminary analysis of chigger mite community on Eothenomys miletus in 19 counties of Yunnan province].

Zhongguo ji sheng chong xue yu ji sheng chong bing za zhi = Chinese journal of parasitology & parasitic diseases, 2012
Eothenomys miletus were captured in 19 counties of Yunnan Province. The distribution of species-abundance and the species-plots relationship between E. miletus and chigger mites were analyzed by using ecological statistic method. There were totally 40,052 chigger mites collected from the body surface of 1741 E. miletus.

Adaptive character of metabolism in Eothenomys miletus in Hengduan Mountains region during cold acclimation

Journal of Thermal Biology, 2010
Environmental factors play an important role in the seasonal adaptation of body mass and thermogenesis in small, wild mammals. The purpose of the present study was to test the hypothesis that ambient temperature was a cue to trigger the seasonal adjustments in body mass, energy intake, uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1) in brown adipose tissue (BAT), and ...

Effects of photoperiod on energy intake, thermogenesis and body mass in Eothenomys miletus in Hengduan Mountain region

Journal of Thermal Biology, 2011
Abstract The present study was designed to examine whether photoperiod alone was effective to induce seasonal changes in physiology in voles ( Eothenomys. ) from the Hengduan Mountain region. Eothenomys miletus were randomly assigned into either long photoperiod (LD; 16L: 8D) or short photoperiod (SD; 8L: 16D) for 4 weeks at constant temperature ...

[Investigation of chigger mites on the rat Eothenomys miletus in Yunnan].

Zhongguo ji sheng chong xue yu ji sheng chong bing za zhi = Chinese journal of parasitology & parasitic diseases, 2007
To understand the species, species distribution, the dominant species and their interspecies interaction of chigger mites on Eothenomys miletus(a dominant species of rats) in Yunnan. The rats were captured with mouse traps in 16 counties (or cities) during 2000-2004.

Effect of food restriction on energy intake and thermogenesis in Yunnan red-backed vole (Eothenomys miletus) with different metabolic levels

Acta Ecologica Sinica, 2014
Shortage of food resources has significant effects on many physiological parameters of animals. The aim of the present study was to examine the relationship between the energetics countermeasures in response to food restriction and the levels of metabolism in Eothenomy miletus.

Limits to Sustainable Energy Intake during Lactation inEothenomys miletus: Effects of Fur-Shaving and Litter Size

Mammal Study, 2016
The aim of this study was to examine relationships between sustainable energy intake (SusEI) and resting metabolic rate (RMR) in Eothenomys miletus and to understand the factors limiting maximum SusEI/RMR during lactation. Body mass, food intake, RMR, milk energy output (MEO), litter size, litter mass, and thermal conductance were measured.

Effects of cold acclimation on body mass, serum leptin level, energy metabolism and thermognesis in Eothenomys miletus in Hengduan Mountains region

Journal of Thermal Biology, 2010
Abstract Eothenomys miletus is an important species inhabiting Hengduan mountains region. In order to study adaptive strategy and the role of serum leptin level in response to a 49 d cold exposure, body mass, energy intake, basal metabolic rate (BMR), nonshivering thermogenesis (NST) in E. miletus were measured.

Sarcocystis eothenomysi n. sp. (Apicomplexa: Sarcocystidae) from the large oriental vole Eothenomys miletus (Thomas) (Cricetidae: Microtinae) from Anning, China

Systematic Parasitology, 2014
Fifty-six oriental voles, Eothenomys miletus (Thomas), were collected in Anning prefecture of Yunnan Province (China) between March 2012 and December 2013 and examined for the presence of sarcocysts. Sarcosysts of a new species, Sarcocystis eothenomysi n. sp., were found in 14 out of 56 E.
