The Emerging Parkinson's Disease Oxylipin‐Ome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Parkinson Disease (PD) is increasingly considered a proteinopathy and lipidopathy. This proteinopathy+lipidopathy paradigm has been further refined to a fatty acid (FA)‐opathy, centering dysregulated FA metabolism as fundamental in PD lipid dysfunction.

Surface Engineering on Transition Metal Dichalcogenides: In Situ Encapsulation of Metal–Organic Frameworks for Highly Humidity‐Resistant Gas Sensing at Room Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
2D UiO‐66‐NH2/MoS2 was fabricated via an aqueous synthesis method to in situ encapsulation of MoS2 with 2D UiO‐66‐NH2 MOF. The humidity‐resistant NO2 sensing of 2D UiO‐66‐NH2/MoS2 at room temperature was accordingly enhanced by MOF encapsulation layer, along with the selectivity and stability.

Controlling Near‐Infrared Fluorescence‐to‐Phosphorescence Ratios and Triplet Lifetimes in Rhodium(I) Dimers via Primary and Secondary Coordination Sphere Effects

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
RhI dimers with bridging aryl isocyanide and di‐phosphine ligands show NIR‐I or NIR‐II fluorescence/phosphorescence, depending on the ligands and conformational rigidity at the Rh2 core. Rh‐Rh interactions can be tuned by peripheral modification of the aryl isocyanide ligand, resulting in a rigid Rh2 core and improved photophysical properties ...

Tissue fatty acid deposition, plasma lipid and cytokine profile in pigs fed a diet with fish oil or palm oil

open access: yesCzech Journal of Animal Science, 2017
The present study tested a hypothesis concerning a favourable effect of dietary fish oil on the tissue polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) deposition, and on plasma lipid and cytokine profile. Thirty-two pigs divided into two groups of 16 animals each were

The End Game of Deregulation: Myopic Risk Management and the Next Catastrophe [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
By using the Kingston Fossil Fuel Plant’s spill into the Emory River as a case study, this article offers several explanations for why the twentieth century dynamic of crisis and reform has disappeared in the early twenty-first century.

Volcano‐Inspired Dual‐Carbon Network Aerogel for High‐Performance Solar Evaporation With Edge‐Directed Salt Crystallization and Recovery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A volcano‐inspired dual‐carbon aerogel featuring hierarchical conduits and an outer carbon‐fiber shell directs rapid water transport, confines heat, and enables directional salt migration. Radial temperature gradients in the conical structure trigger Marangoni‐driven edge‐localized salt crystallization while maintaining an unobstructed photothermal ...
