On Split $$B_1$$-EPG Graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In this paper, we are interested in edge intersection graphs of paths in a grid, such that each such path has at most one bend. These graphs were introduced in [12] and they are called \(B_1\)-EPG graphs. In particular, we focus on split graphs and characterise those that are \(B_1\)-EPG.

Maize defense elicitor, 12-oxo-phytodienoic acid, prolongs aphid salivation

open access: yesCommunicative & Integrative Biology, 2020
12-Oxo-phytodienoic acid (OPDA), an intermediate in the jasmonic acid (JA) biosynthesis pathway, regulates diverse signaling functions in plants, including enhanced resistance to insect pests.

ATG-18 and EPG-6 are Both Required for Autophagy but Differentially Contribute to Lifespan Control in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesCells, 2019
During macroautophagy, the human WIPI (WD-repeat protein interacting with phosphoinositides) proteins (WIPI1–4) function as phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate effectors at the nascent autophagosome. Likewise, the two WIPI homologues in Caenorhabditis

EPG-representations with Small Grid-Size [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In an EPG-representation of a graph $G$ each vertex is represented by a path in the rectangular grid, and $(v,w)$ is an edge in $G$ if and only if the paths representing $v$ an $w$ share a grid-edge. Requiring paths representing edges to be x-monotone or, even stronger, both x- and y-monotone gives rise to three natural variants of EPG-representations,

Electropalatography (EPG) activities in Japan and the impact of the COVID‐19 pandemic on EPG research and therapy: A report of presentations at the 7th EPG Symposium

open access: yesInternational Journal of Language & Communication Disorders, 2022
AbstractBackgroundAt the 7th Electropalatography Symposium in Japan, held online on the 24 January 2021, a few speakers were invited to talk about how the COVID‐19 pandemic had impacted their research and/or speech therapy that involved the use of electropalatography (EPG) as well as the procedures adopted in order to continue their work in a safe ...

Computing Maximum Cliques in $$B_2$$ -EPG Graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
EPG graphs, introduced by Golumbic et al. in 2009, are edge-intersection graphs of paths on an orthogonal grid. The class $B_k$-EPG is the subclass of EPG graphs where the path on the grid associated to each vertex has at most $k$ bends. Epstein et al. showed in 2013 that computing a maximum clique in $B_1$-EPG graphs is polynomial.
