Real-time Estimates in Early Detection of SARS
We propose a Bayesian statistical framework for estimating the reproduction number R early in an epidemic. This method allows for the yet-unrecorded secondary cases if the estimate is obtained before the epidemic has ended. We applied our approach to the

Dementia Incidence in Individuals With Parkinson's Disease in the Framingham Heart Study
ABSTRACT Limited information exists on incident dementia in individuals with Parkinson's disease (PD) in US community‐based samples. The Number Needed to Treat: 25 Years of Trials and Tribulations in Clinical Research
The number needed to treat (NNT) is a simple measure of a treatment’s impact, increasingly reported in randomized trials and observational studies, but often incorrectly calculated in studies involving varying follow-up times. We discuss the NNT in these

Study designs: Part 3 - Analytical observational studies
In analytical observational studies, researchers try to establish an association between exposure(s) and outcome(s). Depending on the direction of enquiry, these studies can be directed forwards (cohort studies) or backwards (case–control studies).
