[Etiology in complex partial epilepsy. I. Neuroimaging studies].

Revista de neurologia, 1996
With the appearance of MR, a great advance has been made in the study of the aetiology of epilepsy. This technique can show anomalies not detected in CT scans, obtain images of multiple planes, improve the differentiation of cerebral tissues and allow improved visualization of the temporal lobe, making it very useful in the study of patients with ...

Cognitive function disorders in complex partial epilepsy

Neurologia Croatica. Supplement, 2001
Epilepsy is a symptom of ictal and interictal brain dysfunction, and the possibility that cognitive impairment develops as a secondary symptom is thus obvious. [Grouped crises and status epilepticus in complex partial epilepsy].

Revista de neurologia, 1997
In complex partial crises (CPC) some characteristics of the way in which they occur may be helpful in localizing the focus of origin in the cerebral cortex. Thus, the appearance of any kind of status epilepticus will not predominate depending on the origin of the epileptic focus, but the complex partial state will be rare when the origin is temporal ...

S.P.E.C.T., E.E.G. and M.R.I. investigations in complex partial epilepsy.

Acta neurologica, 1995
We present SPECT, electroencephalography (EEG) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data of a homogeneous group of 12 young adults with rare focal seizures and a good response to carbamazepine. Our data suggest that the alterations of the rCBF are independent of severity and duration of the epilepsy and of the frequency of seizures.
