Abstract Objective Surgical resection for epilepsy seeks to maximize seizure freedom while minimizing new neurocognitive impairments. Tailored resections guided by anatomoelectroclinical (AEC) hypotheses offer the possibility of sparing parts of the hippocampus.

Abstract Intracranial electroencephalographic (iEEG) connectivity analysis is a promising method to localize epileptic networks and guide surgical planning in focal drug‐resistant epilepsy. Despite numerous studies exploring its utility, the added value of iEEG connectivity over standard clinical presurgical evaluation remains unclear.

Successful Treatment of Epilepsy by Resection of Periventricular Nodular Heterotopia [PDF]
We report on a case of successful surgical treatment of drug-resistant epilepsy associated with a solitary lesion of periventricular nodular heterotopia (PNH). In the reported patient, intracranial ictal electroencephalography disclosed that seizures did

We examined the functional relationship between large‐scale δ‐band phase synchrony and local epileptogenic β–γ‐band amplitude bistability during NREM sleep. Increased synchrony and strong bistability characterized the epileptogenic zone, with strongest effects during N2 sleep, when seizures most frequently occur.

Abstract Objective Anterior temporal lobe resection (ATLR) is an effective treatment for drug‐resistant temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) but carries a substantial risk of language impairment, particularly in naming. Understanding and predicting the impact of ATLR on language functions remains a major clinical challenge.

Dysfunction of neurovascular/metabolic coupling in chronic focal epilepsy [PDF]
In this study, we aim to evaluate the mechanisms underlying the neuro-vascular/metabolic coupling in the epileptogenic cortices of rats with chronic focal epilepsy.

Abstract Objective Focal cortical dysplasia (FCD) causes drug‐resistant epilepsy requiring presurgical evaluation. Invasive electroencephalographic (EEG) studies demonstrate that sleep modulates epileptic activity, including interictal epileptiform discharges (IEDs), fast oscillations (FOs) in the beta (14–40 Hz) and gamma (40–80 Hz) frequency bands ...
