High‐Throughput Screening and Interpretable Machine Learning for Rational Design of Bimetallic Catalysts for Methane Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Methane's efficient catalytic removal is vital for sustainable development. Bimetallic catalysts, though promising for methane activation, pose a design challenge due to their complex compositional space. This work introduces an integrated framework that combines high‐throughput density functional theory (DFT) and interpretable machine ...

Addressing epistemic injustice in the mental healthcare of Indigenous people in Bangladesh: Implications for global mental health

open access: yesCambridge Prisms: Global Mental Health
Indigenous peoples across the world are at disproportionate risk of mental health problems. Colonial hegemony, cultural infiltration, language loss, land grabbing, limited access to healthcare services, including mental health, and geographical isolation

A Novel Risk Matrix Approach Based on Cloud Model for Risk Assessment Under Uncertainty

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
The fuzziness and randomness are significant epistemic uncertainty within the qualitative categorization of the two critical factors, the frequency and severity, which are not fully considered in the traditional risk matrix.

Data‐Driven Modeling of Composition–Processing–Microstructure Relations for Recycled Aluminum Cast Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Interpretable machine learning reveals how composition and processing govern the formation and microstructural burden of Fe‐rich intermetallic compounds in recycled Al–Si–Fe–Mn alloys. By separating morphology selection from morphology‐conditioned burden partitioning, this framework shows that identical Fe contents can yield different intermetallic ...

Automation and Active Learning for the Multi‐Objective Optimization of Antibody Formulations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Successful antibody formulation necessitates balancing factors such as thermal stability, colloidal stability, and viscosity across a vast excipient design space. This work integrates robotic liquid handling, high‐throughput biophysical characterization, and multi‐objective Bayesian optimization in an iterative closed‐loop Design‐Build‐Test‐Learn cycle.

Epistemic Dependence, Cognitive Irrationality, and Epistemic Conflicts of Interests — Why There Is a Need for Social Epistemic Norms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
When an agent A depends on an agent B to promote one of A's epistemic goals, this will often involve B's forming and sharing of true beliefs. However, as is well documented in research on cognitive irrationality, agents are disposed to form and share ...

Closing the Empirical Loop: Autonomous AI Agents Conduct End‐to‐end Research With Human Participants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multi‐agent AI system autonomously executes the complete scientific workflow, from hypothesis to manuscript, across three psychological studies involving 288 participants. The system designs experiments, collects real world data, develops analysis pipelines, and writes manuscripts with theoretical rigor comparable to experienced researchers.

A laboratory task to assess epistemic mistrust: behavioral evidence for mediation between childhood trauma and borderline personality features in young adults

open access: yesBorderline Personality Disorder and Emotion Dysregulation
Background Disruptions in epistemic trust have been recognised as key sequelae of trauma and as markers of vulnerability to borderline personality pathology.

CLRe: A Synergistic Dual‐Engine Framework for One‐Step Retrosynthesis Prediction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CLRe uses a contrastive difficulty score to order pretrained seq2seq fine‐tuning for retrosynthesis. Reaction embeddings define the ranking score, and a cumulative easy‐to‐hard schedule expands from the easiest subset to the full training set while earlier examples remain active.
