We present a genome assembly from an individual female Episyrphus balteatus (the Marmalade Hoverfly; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Syrphidae). The genome sequence is 535 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into five chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the assembled X sex chromosome.
