A 74-year-old woman had a radical anterior segment resection for epithelial ingrowth following cataract extraction. Light microscopy demonstrated the presence of a sheet of cells morphologically similar to conjunctival epithelium covering the superior half of the inner surface of the cornea, iris, and ciliary processes.

Epithelial ingrowth following surgery of recurrent pterygium
International Ophthalmology, 2007Epithelial ingrowth is a rare but devastating condition of the eye, known to complicate incisional ocular procedures. We report a case of secondary glaucoma due to epithelial ingrowth following limbal conjunctival autograft in a case of recurrent pterygium.

Experimental epithelial ingrowth
Acta Ophthalmologica, 1985Abstract. The interaction of confronting corneal epithelium and endothelium has been studied by cultivation of corneas with open perforating wounds. In some experiments, the epithelium and the endothelium were initially damaged adjacent to the perforation, and the repair capacity was reduced by adding steroids or colchicine to the culture medium.

Epithelial ingrowth after laser in situ keratomileusis
American Journal of Ophthalmology, 2000To report the incidence and risk factors for clinically significant epithelial ingrowth after laser in situ keratomileusis as well as the recurrence rate and visual outcomes after its treatment. We defined clinically significant epithelial ingrowth as that which required surgical removal. From a cohort of 3, 786 eyes that underwent primary laser in situ
