Size and Polarizability as Design Principles for Stereoselective Catalysis

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 68, December 4, 2025.
In recent years, noncovalent interactions (NCIs) have been recognized as a key component in substrate activation and control in stereoselective catalysis. We demonstrate that size and polarizability serve as powerful, yet simple descriptors for catalyst and substrate design on a quantitative level.

Application of Crosslinked Epoxy‐Based Gel Polymer Electrolytes for Li‐Ion Battery

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 310, Issue 12, December 2025.
Crosslinked gel polymer electrolytes are prepared using epoxidized soybean oil (ESO) and bisphenol A diglycidyl ether (DGBEA). The resulting polymer electrolytes exhibited a wide electrochemical stability window (up to 4.2 V), ionic conductivity in the range of 10−4 S cm−1, and a cation transference number between 0.47 and 0.76.

Computational Explorations of Enzymes That Catalyze Ambimodal [4 + 2]/[6 + 4] Cycloadditions

open access: yesTransformative Chemistry, Volume 1, Issue 1, December 2025.
This work summarizes the known examples enzyme catalyzed ambimodal [4 + 2]/[6 + 4] cycloadditions, as well as recent advances in computational methods for the study of post‐transition state bifurcations. ABSTRACT Ambimodal transition states (TSs) lead to two or more products via post‐transition state bifurcations (PTSB).

N‐Containing Carbon Materials in Metal‐Free and Non‐Noble Metal Liquid Phase Heterogenous Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 367, Issue 22, November 28, 2025.
Over 100 examples of non‐noble metal supported on N‐containing and metal‐free N‐containing carbon catalysts are discussed. Particular emphasis is put on how different N‐functionalities influence catalyst performance and stability. Preparation procedures are also examined, with a strong focus on how the heat treatment temperature influences N ...

Total Synthesis and Analysis of Phenolic Phytoprostanes, Oxidized Derivatives of Lipophenols

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 62, November 6, 2025.
The total synthesis of four hydroxytyrosol‐phytoprostanes (PhytoPs‐HT) was achieved in 20 steps, enabling their first identification as HT‐α‐linolenate oxidation products. This work revealed new oxidized derivatives of lipophenols via UHPLC‐MS/MS analysis, offering a strategy to trace HT‐derived compounds in complex matrices, aiding food and biomedical

Asymmetric Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of 1,3‐ and 1,4‐Disubstituted Isoquinoline‐Containing Lipoxin A4 Analogues

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 56, October 8, 2025.
(1R)‐ and (1S)‐Epimers of novel isoquinoline‐derived SPMs were prepared, with a Pd‐catalyzed Heck reaction and a Ru(II)‐catalyzed asymmetric transfer hydrogenation as the key synthetic steps. Biological assessment demonstrated that several analogues significantly attenuate lipopolysaccharide‐induced NF‐κB activation and downstream pro‐inflammatory ...
