Dual‐Scale Hydration‐Induced Electrical and Mechanical Torsional Energy Harvesting in Heterophilically Designed CNT Yarns

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Despite the abundance and vast energy potential of water, its efficient utilization is hindered by single‐mode energy conversion. Herein, heterophilic CNT yarns that allow for simultaneous energy harvesting by means of dual‐scale hydration—electrical energy harvesting through proton gradients and mechanical torsional harvesting through microchannel ...

Impacts of the calcinated clay on structure and gamma-ray shielding capacity of epoxy-based composites

open access: yese-Polymers
The current work aims to develop a new composite-based epoxy doped with calcinated clay for low and intermediate gamma-ray energy applications. The increased calcinated clay material concentration between 0 and 60 wt% enhances the constructed composites ...

Exploratory study on the effects of novel diamine curing agents and isocyanate precursors on the properties on new epoxy and urethane adhesives [PDF]

open access: yes
Aromatic diamines based on diphenyl sulfone and benzophenone were studied as epoxy adhesive curing agents. Previously found differences in adhesive strengths for meta vs para orientation were not found in these series.

Liquid Metal‐Vitrimer Conductive Composite for Recyclable and Resilient Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
To address the growing electronic waste challenge, an electrically conductive, healable, and recyclable plastic composite is created, composed of vitrimer and liquid metal microdroplets. A reconfigurable circuit board is demonstrated using this composite material, providing a notable step toward sustainable and robust electronic technologies.

Mussel‐Inspired Molecular Strategies for Fabricating Functional Materials With Underwater Adhesion and Self‐Healing Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review systematically examines the nanomechanical mechanisms of mussel‐inspired molecular interactions, primarily investigated by direct force measurement techniques such as surface forces apparatus and atomic force microscopy. The macroscopic adhesive and self‐healing performances of mussel‐inspired functional materials, including coacervates ...

Untying the Knot: A Fully Recyclable, Solvent‐Free, Wide‐Spectral Photocurable Thermoset Adhesive

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a solvent‐free, recyclable adhesive that cures rapidly under visible light (400–650 nm) while maintaining robust adhesion across diverse substrates. Recyclable via simple microwave irradiation, it combines high performance with optical and bioadaptive potential, representing a significant advancement toward sustainable, circular ...
