Toughening of aromatic epoxy via aliphatic epoxy copolymers
Polymer, 2014Abstract While aromatic diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) based epoxy polymer matrix systems are important for high-performance applications, their brittle nature is an issue that needs to be addressed. In this paper the authors show that small additions of a more flexible aliphatic epoxy copolymers, both di- and tri-functional, can ...

Determination of Epoxy Resin Concentration in Epoxy Modified Bitumens
2021Recently open graded mixes using epoxy modified bitumen have begun to be used in New Zealand for general road surfacing applications. To reduce cost and potential risk to plant and machinery, commercially available epoxy bitumen is commonly diluted with standard grade bitumen.

An Improved Method to Determine Epoxy Index of Epoxy Resins
Polymer-Plastics Technology and Engineering, 2007In this communication, the effects of testing conditions, i.e., reaction time and temperature, on the accuracy for determining epoxy index of chloroepoxy propane were investigated, in order to reduce errors generated by using the current Chinese Standard GB1677-81 for determining epoxy indexes of epoxy resins.

Moisture solubility and diffusion in epoxy and epoxy-glass composites
IBM Journal of Research and Development, 1984The solubility and kinetics of moisture transport mechanisms in epoxy-type resin and resin-glass composites have been investigated over a range of partial pressure and temperature. Moisture absorption-desorption in these systems is a quasi-reversible process, the kinetics of which are non-Fickian (Type II) and dependent on prior history.

Recyclable and Malleable Epoxy Thermoset Bearing Aromatic Imine Bonds
Macromolecules, 2018A method for preparing reprocessable epoxy thermoset is presented. The process is composed of synthesis of a bisphenol monomer bridged by an imine bond, glycidylation of the bisphenol, and cross-linking with a hardener to form thermoset.
