EPOXY RESINS AND TOUGHENING METHODS OF EPOXY RESINS
Epoxy resins (EPs) stand at the forefront as the preeminent thermosetting materials, owing to their inherent stability, both mechanically and chemically, coupled with resistance attributes to heat, corrosion, and electrical challenges (Zhao et al., 2022; Sukanto et al., 2021; Kim et al., 2018; Chen et al., 2020).

Lignin-Based Epoxy Resins: Unravelling the Relationship between Structure and Material Properties
Here we investigate the relationship between thermomechanical properties and chemical structure of well-characterized lignin-based epoxy resins. For this purpose, technical lignins from eucalyptus and spruce, obtained from the Kraft process, were used ...

Influence of the temperature on the dielectric properties of epoxy resins [PDF]
Electrical degradation processes in epoxy resins, such as electrical treeing, were found to be dependent on the temperature at which the experiments were carried out.

Systematic Coarse-graining of Epoxy Resins with Machine Learning-Informed Energy Renormalization [PDF]
A persistent challenge in predictive molecular modeling of thermoset polymers is to capture the effects of chemical composition and degree of crosslinking (DC) on dynamical and mechanical properties with high computational efficiency. We established a new coarse-graining (CG) approach that combines the energy renormalization method with Gaussian ...

Molecular Dynamics Study to Predict Thermo-Mechanical Properties of DGEBF/DETDA Epoxy as a Function of Crosslinking Density [PDF]
Epoxy resins are used extensively in composite materials for a wide range of engineering applications, including structural components of aircraft and spacecraft. The processing of fiber-reinforced epoxy composite structures requires carefully selected heating and cooling cycles to fully cure the resin and form strong crosslinked networks.

This work illustrates that macrocycles can be used as crosslinking agents for curing epoxy resins, provided that they have appropriate organic functionalities. As macrocycles can complex metal ions in their structure, this curing reaction allows for the introduction of that metal ion into the resin network.

Epoxy – the hub for the most versatile polymer with exceptional combination of superlative features [PDF]
Epoxy resins and epoxy based materials have experienced significant advancement since their beginning in 1936, when Dr. Castan of Switzerland and Dr. Greenlee of USA succeeded in synthesizing the very first bisphenol-A-based epoxy resins.
