Effect of Long-Term Day/Night Temperature Oscillations on the Overall Performance of Gilthead Seabream (Sparus aurata) Juveniles

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2023
Water temperature variations affect fish growth and health, often leading to huge losses in fish production, especially during the cold season. To alleviate this constraint, fish farmers can use a water heating system driven by solar energy during ...

Fendioxypyracil, a new and systemic PPO‐inhibiting herbicide for X‐spectrum weed control

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract presents the discovery and synthesis of PPO herbicide structures with a central pyridine core, showing molecular conformations, dose–response inhibition curves for PPO1 and PPO2, and comparative weed and grass control efficacy of fendioxypyracil versus other herbicides in greenhouse and field trials.

Barley seed ageing: genetics behind the dry elevated pressure of oxygen ageing and moist controlled deterioration

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2016
Experimental seed ageing approaches intend to mimic seed deterioration processes to achieve a storage interval reduction. Common methods apply higher seed moisture levels and temperatures.

CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated mutagenesis of the white‐eye gene in the tephritid pest Bactrocera zonata

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
Abstract Bactrocera zonata is a highly invasive agricultural pest that causes extensive damage to fruit crops. The Sterile Insect Technique (SIT), a species‐specific and environmentally friendly pest control method, significantly benefits from the availability of Genetic Sexing Strains (GSSs) that enable efficient mass production of males for sterile ...

Fuzzy adaptive PID control for six rotor eppo UAV

open access: yesJournal of Hebei University of Science and Technology, 2017
Six rotor eppo drones's load change itself in the job process will reduce the aircraft flight control performance and make the resistance to environmental disturbance being poor.

CRISPR/Cas9‐based white pupae mutant lines in Bactrocera spp. for sterile insect technique applications

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
Bactrocera fruit flies are significant horticultural pests that cause major economic losses. A “neoclassical approach” incorporating genome editing via CRISPR/Cas9 to develop genetic sexing strains (GSS) could render the sterile insect technique (SIT) against these pests more efficient and cost‐effective.
