Base-specific spin-labeling of RNA for structure determination

open access: yes, 2007
To facilitate the measurement of intramolecular distances in solvated RNA systems, a combination of spin-labeling, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), and molecular dynamics (MD) simulation is presented. The fairly rigid spin label 2,2,5,5-tetramethyl-

Reinforcing Oxygen Activation of Spinel Oxide via Mn─O Covalency Engineering for VOCs Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A MnCo spinel catalyst with weakened Mn─O covalency was synthesized via a hard‐template method. The reduced Mn─O covalency facilitates localized electron redistribution, promoting the activation of both molecular oxygen and lattice oxygen, and thereby enabling the efficient and complete oxidation of VOCs (ethyl acetate, toluene, and propane).

Atomic Interlayer Mo–N4 Sites Enable Rapid Charge Transfer and Efficient CO2 Photoreduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work achieved efficient CO2 activation and ultrafast interlayer electron transport in a 2D COF by constructing atomic‐level Mo‐N4‐induced interlayer electron bridges (IEB), thereby kinetically and thermodynamically co‐driving the photocatalytic coupling of CO2 reduction with 4‐methoxybenzyl alcohol oxidation.

Shaped Pulses in EPR

open access: yes, 2016
In this article, we describe the implementation and advantages of shaped pulses in EPR spectroscopy. Phase/amplitude-modulated pulses on a nanosecond timescale allow improved excitation bandwidth and profile, and compensation of spatial field variations. The application of shaped pulses in magnetic resonance is briefly reviewed in the introduction, the

Photodynamic Priming and Minocycline Overcome Chemoresistance by Reprogramming the Pancreatic Tumor Immune Microenvironment In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dual priming with minocycline and photodynamic priming reprograms the pancreatic tumor microenvironment to overcome chemoresistance. By suppressing DNA repair enzyme Tdp1, inducing photooxidative damage, and enhancing irinotecan delivery via light‐activated nanoencapsulation, this strategy remodels the tumor microenvironment and drives immune ...

Chain-Length-Dependent Termination of Sodium Methacrylate Polymerization in Aqueous Solution Studied by SP-PLP-EPR

open access: yes, 2017
Via the single pulse–pulsed laser polymerization–electron paramagnetic resonance (SP-PLP-EPR) technique, the chain-length-dependent termination of 5 and 10 wt % sodium methacrylate (NaMAA) in aqueous solution was measured from 5 to 60 °C.

Tyrosinase Driven‐Intracellular Polymerization of a Porphyrin Derivative Induced Immunogenic Death of Melanoma Cells and Strengthened Photodynamic Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uses tyrosinase, which is highly expressed in melanoma, to drive porphyrins to polymerize and self‐assemble within tumor cells to form retented microstructures. This process induces immunogenic death and activates immune responses (M1 macrophages, dendritic cells, CD8+T cells), turning “cold” tumors into “hot” tumors.

EPR-Detected Folding Kinetics of Externally Located Cysteine-Directed Spin-Labeled Mutants of Iso-1-cytochrome c

open access: yes, 2016
We report the application of our newly developed dielectric resonator-based flow and stopped-flow kinetic EPR systematically to probe protein folding in yeast iso-1-cytochrome c at cysteine-directed spin-labeled locations.
