Anionic T‐Shaped Platinum(0) Pincer Complexes and Platinum(I) Intermediates in Radical Reactions With Alkyl Halides

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Two anionic, T‐shaped, d10 platinum(0) complexes containing a PNP pincer ligand have been isolated and characterized. These complexes react with aliphatic C‐Br bonds under formation of a platinum(II) bromide and an alkyl complex, as well as the homocoupled hydrocarbons.

Radical‐Mediated Dispersion Breaks Aggregation Limits in Carbon Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We report a rationally designed small molecule (OTN) that effectively disperses SWCNTs via π–π and radical‐radical interactions, yielding hybrid films with a record power factor of 30.1 µW cm−1 K−2 and excellent flexibility. A nine‐leg device achieves a record normalized power density of 0.653 µW cm−2 K−2, setting a new benchmark for carbon‐based ...

Synergistic Lewis Acid Photocatalysis Over Cluster‐Defect‐Engineered UiO‐66 for Efficient Liquid Biomass Upgrading

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A cluster‐defect engineering strategy is presented for the rational design of Zn‐incorporated UiO‐66 photocatalysts. Selective acid etching mediates hierarchical porosity and abundant Lewis acid sites, tailoring the electronic structure and enhancing light harvesting.

Spatial Orientation‐Dependent Double Hydrogen Bond/Photoredox Cooperative Catalysis in Metal–Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We report a heterogeneous double hydrogen bond/photoredox synergistic catalysis, wherein the flexibility and spatial orientation of catalytic centers, rather than catalyst activity, play a dominant role in catalytic performance. ABSTRACT Catalyst activity is typically the primary priority in designing a catalytic system. The higher catalyst activity is
