Evolution of the Thermal Hydraulics Design Methodologies for the European Pressurized Reactor (EPR) Vessel

Emerging Technology in Fluids, Structures, and Fluid Structure Interactions: Volume 2, Dynamics of Explosive Detonation, Materials and Structures, Structural Mechanics and Design, 2004
The thermal-hydraulic design of the first PWR’s was mainly based on an experimental approach, with a large series of test on the main equipment (control rod guide tubes, RPV plenums ...), to check its performances. Development of CFD-codes and computers now allows for complex simulations of hydraulic phenomena.

How and why the characterization of magnetic materials can give directions in the methodological development in high field–high frequency EPR

Research on Chemical Intermediates, 2002
The experimental problems linked to the use of the ultra-wide band high field-high frequency Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (HF2-EPR) spectrometers are illustrated with some key examples. The single pass technique is critically analyzed and compared with other techniques.

Load Combination Reduction Methodology for the US EPR™ Standard Nuclear Power Plant

Volume 8: Seismic Engineering, 2012
The Safety-Related structures of the U.S. EPR™ Standard Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) predominantly consist of reinforced concrete shear walls and slabs; thus they are typically modeled using shell finite elements and analyzed and designed for a large number of applicable load combinations.

Temperature-Dependent Exchange Interaction in Molecular Magnets Cu(hfac)2LR Studied by EPR: Methodology and Interpretations

Inorganic Chemistry, 2011
Exchange-coupled spin triads nitroxide-copper(II)-nitroxide are the key building blocks of molecular magnets Cu(hfac)(2)L(R). These compounds exhibit thermally induced structural rearrangements and spin transitions, where the exchange interaction between spins of copper(II) ion and nitroxide radicals changes typically by 1 order of magnitude.

SOPHE: New methodologies for the analysis of randomly orientated EPR spectra

1996
A new software package named SOPHE after the Sydney Opera HousE for computer simulation of randomly oriented powder spectra in magnetic resonance will be described... The SOPHE package can be used to simulate randomly orientated, solution and single crystal EPR spectra arising from isolated paramagnetic spin systems (S ^Vi) and complex coupled spin ...
